Part of the Ladybird 'Picture Books' series, this wonderful book is a perfect introduction to fairy tales for pre-schoolers - it contains amusing pictures and lots of funny rhythm and rhyme to delight young children. It was followed in 1850 by "The wonderful story of Henny Penny" in Joseph Cundall's compilation, The Treasury of pleasure books for young children.

The second Disney film was the very loosely adapted Chicken Little, released in 2005 as a 3D computer-animated feature.
