About this deal

Please note that we do not take responsibility for any packages that are left safe or with a neighbour. Surprisingly, the Deox-C actually seems to soften it up to the extent that a scotchbright pad will take it off without much work.

I feel like I have tooth ache all up the back of my legs, and past experience says I'll be fit for nothing for at least a couple of days now. That detector actually has an LCD meter built in, so I watched the level climb from 0ppm to 3ppm throughout the day, and then it stay there.

Flatting back of coats is possible using dry wet or dry paper; care should be taken not to abrade through the barrier. Traditional paints and coatings applied to rectify corrosion problem areas usually give a disappointing performance, with rust quickly reappearing. On the mig forum there has also been discussion about the Lechler 29107 epoxy primer, which although described as 2 pack, is possibly non iso. Importantly for long-term protection Hydrate 80 doesnt contain chlorine which is known to transform into corrosive hydrochloric acid in rust converter applications causing under-film blistering and destruction of paint finishes or other coating products.

Most of the bits have been in Deox C for a while, and they're about 99% rust free, but under the heading of "Belt and braces" I was thinking about treating some parts with Hydrate 80.Tested by the German TUV organisation and proven to provide performance equalling primers applied to clean steel. Spray application should be made by first applying light mist coat which is left to tack dry (5-10mins) then apply full coat not to excess.

As with all treatments preparation is important:Remove loose, flaky rust with a wire brush and abrasive paper (or if favoured power tools). It's plated with a thick layer of some slightly soft metal that didn't seem to like the Deox C it had a long bath in, but as it's hidden by the lid, I'm not sure if I'm going to paint it. The paint I've got is apparently good for 800'C, and as I've never seen the smaller diameter unpainted chimneys on the Aladdin greenhouse paraffin heaters so much as start to glow I'm assuming it's going to be somewhere south of 550/600'C, so I'm hoping it'll be fine. This old house apperes to have more than enough natural ventilation (Read "Horrendous ice cold drafts") to keep the level well below the accepted 9ppm safe constant limit. This one litre bottle can be used to prevent blistering of any anti-corrosion wax, paint, or other coating you apply.I did think of coating things with a grease to keep flash rusting at bay, but was worried about the painter not removing it completely and ruining the paint job.
