I initially gave this 4 stars because, overall, I had fun with it; but the more I let it sit, the more I thought I've waited so long to read this and yet was a little disappointed because I could hardly see any difference between this book's dark romance and the previous Never After ones. This ensures that the book is difficult to put down, as there’s always a surprise around every corner, making it a more than satisfying read. I first watched the Animation version of Aladdin and then the movie before I read the book and boy I freaking love it- The references are k! I love how in the end both change for good, Julian finally gets someone who chooses him before anything and anyone, the thing he desires the most and Yasmin finally learns to stand for herself and stop pleasing everyone.The last 20% hyper-speeds the plot compared to the first 80% and I just wanted this to slow a little bit down and have the same or similar pace to the majority of the story even if it meant adding a few extra pages. Its just so well done here, and honestly of all the fake marriage or marriage of convenience books I've read this might be my favorite. This series has quickly become one of my most anticipated when a new one is announced, and I SCREAMED when I saw I got this ARC.
