Fen who is used to being cast aside and treated like an old shoe, finds new confidence and makes new friends. What she doesn't know is that she actually arrives at the perfect time for Oswald who manipulates the situation and tells her that they are actually married. The third act didn’t really hit the spot for me (I would have preferred more angst, or maybe to skip the third act conflict completely because the audiobook felt a little long), but overall I highly enjoyed this book but that’s no surprise - I don’t think I’ve read an Alice Coldbreath book I didn’t like. I don’t understand why he became obsessed with her ( not that it’s some kind of great honour — he still treated her like a pet). She struggled slightly against him and he pulled back, only to realize she had understood his unspoken demand and was sweetly parting her legs beneath him.He forges some documents to show that they were actually married all these years (and not just betrothed) and so insta-wife.
