About this deal

Moreover, the brand is committed to sustainable sourcing of its botanicals, ensuring not just a high-quality gin but one that consumers can enjoy with a clear conscience. Hand-wrapped in paper, sealed with twine and wax, Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin is one of the more unique bottles on the market. It's a gin that tells a story - of the rolling British countryside, of the hands that craft it with dedication, and of the myriad flavours that dance on the palate with every sip.

Another design from the D8 agency, the shape of the glass is reminiscent of traditional Dutch j enever, while the gradient green is a nod to Ullapool as a place where land meets the sea. The latter gin is made by the Brentingby distillery near Melton Mowbray (of the famous pies) which uses wind turbines to power the production lines more sustainably. What makes the bottle all the more impressive is that co-founder/distiller, David Havelin, wrote a computer programme himself to design the label, ensuring complete control over the size, shape and colour of the bricks – even down to the number of rows! This method, time-consuming and demanding precision, results in a gin that is both smooth and complex. Each is a unique combination of flecked copper and sugar kelp (the key botanical in the gin), making every individual bottle that bit more special. Since the beginning we’ve looked to consult with the best people to create the best possible spirits from our small craft distillery. The Botanist Gin is distilled at Bruichladdich Distillery in Isle of Islay, which is arguably more famous for its fine whiskies.

The logo for the gin, the hibiscus flower, represents the link between the birthplace of both Bruce (KwaZulu-Natal) and his gin (Melton). It’s a huge favourite with gin fanatics since its launch in 2018, both for this beauty, as well as its somewhat flavoursome gin.Based in the northernmost tip of mainland Scotland, the brand takes its name from the Rhodiola rosea (a rose in the rocks), one of its 18 botanicals. The brand elected to increase its size to 70cl, while the branding remained true to the original design by Parisian, Gilbert Lopez. And to cap it all off, the label features the coordinates of the distillery in Tarbert – meaning you know that every bottle of Harris Gin is coming directly from the island. How have you tried to incorporate the places that mean most to you into the brand and why is the local area so important to you?

The simple, but striking bottle features a map of Cornwall, with the turquoise surround a nod to the seas around the areas coastline.

It is contained in a beautiful copper coloured bottle, reminiscent of Ayanda’s glow, and according to Bruce, the gin delivers the spirit of perfection through a combination of eight botanicals and careful distillation through the copper still to produce a smooth, rounded spirit. Three small dots surround the contemporary typography of the logo, symbolising three Nordic lighthouses which surround the straight, while the cork stopper has the North Star leading the way. The design takes inspiration from Eenoo’s native artwork, which they found to be vibrant and colourful, with the hourglass representing ‘time’. Bruce designed the 10 plate copper column still, and after manufacture, meticulously assembled each piece of the structure by hand. Taking its name and bottle design from the distinctive doors on the distillery, it makes for a striking red bottle.

Bottled at a slightly higher ABV than some gins at 45% you’ll find that it won’t get drowned in a gin and tonic, and it makes a wonderful classic martini with a twist of pink grapefruit zest (one of our botanicals).

The current incarnation was launched in 2014 and cleverly has all 22 of its hand-foraged botanicals embossed on the glass in Latin. Teaming up with Seymourpowell branding agency, they created a beautiful design, built around their brand and the SIlent Pool. Due to the proliferation of bootleggers operating during this period in America, producers had to come up with inventive ways of discouraging counterfeit alcohol production. Not only is Brentingby Distillery Melton's first gin distillery, it's also powered entirely by wind.
