Sadly, that whole “no free will” thing rankled some freedom fighters that escaped Killgrave’s control (most notably the Avenger known as Wonder Man) and they were able to break Doom’s control, but the message of Emperor Doom remained: that Doctor Doom was such a profound genius that if he ever succeeded in gaining control of society, in many ways, the lives of humanity would be better. Collects Dark Reign: Fantastic Four (2009) #1-5, Fantastic Four (1998) #570-588, and FF (2011) #1-5. Also includes material from Dark Reign: The Cabal One-Shot (2009).In these magnificent issues by master Fantastic Four creator John Byrne, Doom reminded readers that above all things, he is a ruler. Giant-Sized Super-Villain Team-Up #1 detailed how Doom and Namor grudgingly reunited, in a framing sequence by Thomas, John Buscema & Sinnott interlaced with reprints of previous meetings.
