About this deal

I let my head fall as I tried to take in air, but I couldn’t stop my chest from damn near convulsing. All I could get were short breaths. I honestly did not expect this dirt from Penelope Douglas. She was nearly the only NA writer for me whose books were decent in this genre. Why did she have to go and write porn?! And why did she have to wrap it up and offer it to us as romance?! It is not love. I am not a prude. I am not against eroticism. I love hot sex in books. But pornography is disgusting, in my opinion. Earlier I added that I also think very low of people enjoying porn, but a comment from a friend of mine showed me that it is a little bit judgmental to call people names publicly for their tastes. Yes, it's everyone's business what to watch, read and do behind closed doors. What I was trying to say earlier, that non-consensual sex or intercourse where a woman is humiliated and lowered to the status of a sex slave, which seems to be a trend in the porn industry, is not something I would appreciate about the person who enjoys watching or reading about it. It's my personal perception of the world and morality. I find porn disgusting and this book looks to me like one distasteful porn scene. I felt dirty after reading it, therefore I can't recommend it to other people. Bare sex - yes. Sublime feeling and love - no. Corrupt can be compared to other works of Penelope Douglas. Her other books, such as Dare You To and Until You, also explore themes of loyalty, trust, and morality. However, Corrupt stands out because of its thrilling and suspenseful plot. A light spatter of sand covered my legs and feet, and I reached down to grip the ends of my loose jean shorts, inventorying exactly how wet I’d gotten down at the beach. Would I need a shower?

Love and sacrifice are explored in the main characters’ relationship, while revenge is the focus of the main character’s desire for retribution against his enemies. Redemption is explored in the main character’s journey to find peace and forgiveness, while identity is explored through his struggle to find his place in the world. Family is explored through his relationships with his parents, siblings, and other family members, while grief and loss are explored through his experience of losing a loved one. Isolation is also explored through the main character’s feelings of being disconnected and alone. Even Damon, the villain, is waxing poetics about her looks. (Not even going to open that can of worms right now, gotta leave something for later but ewwww) And unfortunately for our heroine, her crush on said big, bad-boy brother, lead her into their path, and even into their group, as they seemed to be accepting her… (OMG I LOVED this whole scene!!)

What if I'd completely corrupted her? What if she'd begun to like playing games too much, and the lust to play- and to win- overpowered her need for me?

Corrupt Book by Penelope Douglas: Summary and Overview Corrupt Book by Penelope Douglas: Summary and Overview

first of all... seriously?? that's how she- everyone is going to react after manhandling her and threatening her with rape??! are you serious? ok lemme show y'all just one conversation from this scene: Her arrival sets in motion a plan of vengeance with dire consequences. But neither Michael nor Rika are prepared for the attraction and sense of belonging they feel. Sexual tension mixed with his anger and ruthlessness and her ignorance and reservations. Drowning Pool, Three Days Grace, Five Finger Death Punch,” I continued, “Thousand Foot Krutch, 10 Years, Nothing More, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Bush…” I paused, exhaling nice and slow despite the way my heart drummed. “Chevelle, Skillet, Garbage, Korn, Trivium, In This Moment…” I drifted off, peace settling over me as I looked up at him. “You’re in everything.” i honestly had no sympathy for any of the four horsemen here and at one point i thought, im glad their entitled asses went to jail. they should've stayed longer. but of course my perspective has changed and i love their entitled asses now. Mrs. Douglas is Penelope’s mother, strong and ambitious, determined to give her daughter the best life possible. You’re not breathing, are you?” he taunted. “Oh, you’re so sweet when you’re scared. Just as sweet as I remember.”
