Absolutely disgusting, the company has had recent product changes and have changed the flavour of this for lower quality and they’ve also made them smaller. You can see how badly they are made now. Looks like it was made by a child in someone’s kitchen. Very disappointed. There was a general nervousness around this bar, since the Grenade version was NOT popular. So we went in with trepidation… To answer that, the first thing to understand is just why eating protein is as important as drinking water. “Protein plays a functional or structural role in all our cells,” explains Tom Clifford, a sports nutritionist and lecturer in physiology and nutrition at Loughborough University. “It’s principally involved in growth and repair, but it provides us with energy, too”

How do they compare to the other son the market in terms of nutrition, and which ones would suit your palette? Find out with us!

Although it is generally better to avoid unnecessarily processed ingredients, it’s likely that your protein bar will contain a processed form of protein – but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. “Bars with protein as the dominant macronutrient will always contain some kind of powder or processed protein source,” says functional medicine nutritionist Steve Grant. This is because whole food proteins contain more naturally occurring sugars. “Whole food sources of protein, such as nuts and dates, might provide 10g of protein, but then your bar would also contain 15g of sugar and 25g of carbs.” The lead reviewer was certainly looking forward to this as he has a penchant for white chocolate, reviewer number 2 not so much, 4 year old, yes he looked very excited.

Collagen is the second primary source and Soya protein is the third source of protein for it. ii) Low Sugar: Protein Blend (29%) [Calcium Caseinate ( Milk), Bovine Collagen Hydrolysate, Whey Protein Concentrate ( Milk), Soya Protein Isolate], Couverture Milk Chocolate with Sweetener (23%) [Sweetener (Maltitols), Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Emulsifier ( Soya Lecithins), Natural Vanilla Flavouring], Caramel Layer (13%) [Sweetener (Maltitols), Humectant (Glycerol), Cocoa Butter, Soya Protein Isolate, Colour (Plain Caramel), Emulsifier (Lecithins), Condensed Milk (Whole Milk, Sugar), Flavouring, Salt], Sweetener (Maltitols), Humectant (Glycerol), Crispy Soya Pieces (5%) ( Soya Protein Isolate, Tapioca Starch, Salt), Emulsifier (Lecithins), Sunflower Oil, Cocoa Butter, Water, Reduced Fat Cocoa Powder, Flavourings.
