For more about Scream and the Scream Blu-ray release, see Scream Blu-ray Review published by Martin Liebman on April 5, 2022 where this Blu-ray release scored 4.0 out of 5. In 1996, Wes Craven's 'Scream' reignited a mass, box-office interest in the slasher subgenre, both with loyal horror fanatics and the general viewing public. At the time, most horror entries were little more than a joke, and franchise sequels were literally contrived shadows of their former glory. Aside from a few exceptions, the genre seemed to limp along in a daze of formulaic rubbish, and audiences (myself included) were in need of something new. When 'Scream' hit theaters, it didn't exactly reinvent the wheel, and it was far from ground-breaking or original, but it offered a fresh and innovative approach by celebrating the formula which made the genre popular, relishing in its own self-awareness. A year after the murder of her mother, teenage girl is terrorized by a killer. A tabloid news reporter is determined to uncover the truth. This is the 2022 version of Scream, not a re-release of the original classic 1996 film Scream, directed by the late Wes Craven. It is much like the original But as only Craven and Williamson could do, it was so much more. Not just content with advancing the stories of our core cast and with poking fun at its very existence as only a Scream movie could do, thematically there are notions of the impact of film and of all media not just on its audience, but through history, the blurring of reality and artifice and how we, the viewer, react and embrace that and most importantly, on top of all that, and something that so much modern message horror seems to forget, it was a very good, effective and wholly entertaining ‘horror movie’.by making the world of movies integral to its plot, it must be hyper aware of truth but also forward thinking in terms of how Scream (or Q&A with Cast and Crew: Included are What's Your Favorite Scary Movie? and Why Are People So Fascinated By Horror Scream Blu-ray delivers great video and reference-quality audio in this exceptional Blu-ray release

should please franchise fans and movie buffs in general. Paramount's Blu-ray offers solid video and audio presentations as well as a healthy Scream 2 was shot on 35mm film using Panavision Panaflex Platinum cameras and Panavision Primo and C-Series lenses, capturing the images anamorphically. This disc uses a new 4K restoration of the film’s original camera negative and creates a wonderful native 3840 x 2160p resolution image with the original aspect ratio of 2.39:1 faithfully preserved using a 10-bit video depth, both High Dynamic Range flavours (HDR10 and Dolby Vision) and encoded using the HEVC (H.265) codec. remakes and Internet fandom, all of which play a major role in the story. This is a solid picture that brings Scream full circle and should rile up Paramount's 1080p image for Scream is sharp and revealing. It is clearly the lesser of the two images when compared with the concurrently Whilst only maybe film nerds knew the rules of a horror movie when the first Scream came out, a year later when this sequel hit cinemas, everyone knew the rules of being a ‘sequel’… bigger, more excessive and just worse. These weren’t just rules, these were recognisable facts in all but the hardiest of cases (Jim Cameron notwithstanding).

judging by that review's screenshots this is a serious improvement in all areas. The old Blu-ray appeared to be heavily processed while this one is very characters and returning favorites. This film shares the same sort of scenes where such information is revealed in exposition as the characters
