About this deal

Here are the solutions I have tried (when technically feasible) on a TCL 4K 65" TV, a Samsung 40" 1080p TV and a Samsung CRG9 monitor. The existing 2X-Pro is still our flagship product while the 2X-M is an addition to our line up to fill the specific 480p gap. Well I got the s video cable and let me tell you it looks alot better than the av and specially the component cable. Hi guys, I have exactly the same problem and came to this forum hoping someone might have an answer and low and behold there is a thread on the very problem. Good forum this. With the s video everything looks sharper and alot clearer over the av cable. Game mode looks better with this s video cable aswell.

If your PS2 isn't modded to run NTSC games then there isn't much point using component as most PAL games do not support prog scan. In my testing, there isn’t a “best” model PS2 to use, as all seem to output the same quality video and audio. There’s talk that some models are more reliable than others, but overall there’s only a few models to outright avoid, all “slim” models: HD Retrovision component cable: It may be more expensive and make big claims, but a component cable is a component cable. Same as the TNP component cable. Super jagged, interlaced and aliased.Using our proprietary connector over moulding technology. With our RGC logo embedded on the top side of the connector.

Some PlayStation 2 games – most notably “classic” software collections – will run in 240p, giving it the look of older consoles. Some people have complied a list of those games, just for reference : The 2X-M does not replace the current 2X-Pro. If you already own the 2X-Pro or are looking for the best device for connecting non-480p capable consoles, the 2X-Pro is almost certainly still the best choice for you. That's what I realised when I didn't get any signal - but did get audio. Changed it to Y/Pb/Pr and hey presto - perfect picture. As one of the oldest cables used for transmitting audio and video signals, it is now being replaced by more modern ones. The component cable is one of them, along with HDMI, that is even more popular. HDMI is the latest interface capable of carrying both high-quality and high-fidelity video and audio signals. Even if your flat-panel TV has component video inputs, I strongly recommend using a scaler to connect your PS2. This is because every TV I’ve tested has more lag through the analog video inputs than the HDMI input. Also, your TV’s built-in deinterlacer will most likely add a ton of lag to 480i games, even when in “game mode”. These scalers can fix that: Get the best analog video & audio out of your Wii or Wii U using this high-quality fully shielded cable

This adapter converts the male 9-pin mini-DIN connector on the Genesis YPbPr cable to a male Saturn 10-pin mini-DIN connector. I have recently got my hands on a fat PS2 (SCPH-30004) meant to be thrown away which I repaired and it works just fine, and it's the only actual PS2 I own right now. Just one thing, I get no audio out from the Analog port. I have it connected to a LED TV via an already owned component cable (YPbPr) which I have successfully tested with 2 or 3 other -slim- PS2s. So, if it's not the TV or the cable it must be the console, right? I can still have audio out through the optical out into my Z-5500 speakers, no problem, but not through the red-white stereo cables, while video signal (red-green-blue plugs) is just fine. Could it be a burnt on board circuit fault? How would I go about testing/repairing for the sake of completeness? Although the enclosures are similar, the 2X-M is based on a completely different chipset. It is not possible to add 480p pass-thru capability to the existing devices. Otherwise, we would have just released the new firmware and called it a day! HD Retrovision component cable + Retroscaler 2x + Marseille mClassic upscaler... this is getting expensive!!!: the mClassic takes the 480p output from the Retroscaler and upscales it to 1080p, adding a soft filter on top of it. The result is still pretty bad. The difference isn't huge, but it's the best picture out of all these setups. Honestly, for this usage scenario, the mClassic is NOT worth it. I know it can't work any magic with a 480p source, but it shouldn't be marketed as a good option for sub-HD consoles. Hey, at least, it doesn't add any lag. DVD discs are masterd in component. No mater what signal is feed to your TV it is converted to RGB. PlayStation 2 consoles output both Component Video (YPbPr) and RGB. Both are equal in quality, but component video is easier to use in all resolutions with the PS2. More info below:
