About this deal

Instead, they are so imbued with energies from Azyr that they may appear as magical entities. Those with strong links with the Realm of Heavens, still living in the space vessels are called Starborne. The Saurus Knights represent the cavalry of the Seraphon but their movement is not the highest of the warband (only 6”) placing them in the elite range with Toughness 4, high wounds and good damage output. The Coalesced have a number of traits that are all over the place but come together (you could say they coalesce) into a pretty nasty whole. Important bit of context here moving forward, remember how I said the lore had shifted to say Seraphon were not star dreams anymore? This is now reflected in the rules by removing the DAEMON keyword and adjusting their leadership accordingly. Units have leadership all over the place. Saurus have a respectable 8, while Skinks can go as low as 5. Coalesced cannot have their bravery modified, positively or negatively, so this isn’t so bad for Saurus but if you wanna run a lot of Skinks this is a problem. That said, one of the common sub themes of this book is the ability to generate extra command points, as many support heroes now generate an additional one each turn on a 4+/5+ dice roll, meaning you can offset this limitation somewhat using the auto-pass morale command ability. Telling you whether or not you should get a battletome is often challenging. Frequently, it’s not a decision you get to make. If you like the army and want to play it, you have to get the book. It doesn’t matter if you like the rule changes or not, if you play the army you have to get it if you want to keep playing it.

This new centrepiece kit comes on three medium size sprues and an 80mm round base. You start by building the palanquin, and then you have a few assembly options for the Slann: The salamanders herded by Sun Acolytes born under the blessing of Chotec are a unique element among the Seraphon. These creatures are essentially living artillery, belching flaming globs of corrosive saliva across the battlefield to weaken the armour and broil the flesh of their enemies.* Throughout the Age of Darkness – and particularly in the Siege of Cthonia campaign – the Imperial Fists made use of experienced Decurion tank commanders in vehicle combat. Renowned for their marksmanship, Decurion Saggitars were able to identify key enemy assets, and help their tank crews split fire to destroy multiple critical targets in a single engagement. This resin upgrade kit is designed to be fitted on a plastic Deimos Pattern Predator, Sicaran, or Kratos. Imperial Fists and Sons of Horus Shoulder Pads and Torsos Nimble Retreat (Double, Skink Starpriest, Skink Priest, all Skinks and Skink Handler): If engaged perform a bonus disengage action.Otherwise his role is pretty much the same. He’s basically Kroak’s understudy, with 1 fewer spell, +1 to cast instead of +2 but most of the same abilities. Notably Celestial Equilibrium was moved from the lore to a warscroll spell, which does soothe losing Comet’s call a bit, giving all other Wizards a +1. He also gets the new spell Shield of the Old Ones to give him a 4+ Ward against Mortals, good for avoiding being targetted by the enemy’s own spells. Independently from how you are going to form your bulk, you will need some flying units for their amazing Movement and high Wounds (high movement is just king in Warcry). It is useful in certain situations especially if you need to reach an objective or engage a further enemy. While it’s not the biggest points sink of the Start Collecting boxes it gives you a great taste of what units you’ll actually be using. Shouts to Luke Stone. He knows the Slann lore of whichever army you put him in, but not both. This does make him a higher value since base Slann can’t hot swap spells for free anymore (and Coalesced ones at all). He dropped to a very nice 395 which makes him even more appealing – if he wasn’t before. Slann Starmaster

A great value box and currently the only way to get the Bloodsecrator, Bloodstoker and Khorgorath. The contents of this box where the Khorne half of the original Age of Sigmar starter set and many people do/did (help me out here players) consider the Bloodstoker an autoinclude in Khorne armies. The Starpriest and the Priest differ only in the damage dealt: both have 2 weapon profiles, one ranged up to 7″ for 3/6 damage (2/5 for the Priest) and one melee for 1/4 damage (1/3 for the Priest) both at Strength 3. As an army, you have two aspects of the Seraphon to choose from: The Starborne, representing the Seraphon in their more ‘alien’ aspect aboard their starships are capable of teleporting units in from space, and the Coalesced representing the Seraphon in their more ‘primal’ state in the realms, where you tap more heavily into brute primal force, and the various monstrous dinosaurs at their disposal- that’s right, I did say dinosaurs. The Seraphon’s most unique aspect, and likely the reason you’re interested in them, is the fact that they’re all dinosaurs from space. At the bottom of your warband you have the Skinks. Do not underestimate the potential of their hit-and-run ability ( Nimble Retreat for a Double) as it allows them to remain alive longer for the cost of a Double. If you really need to… Otherwise just use them as sacrificial pawns and which weapon to use will depend on how many points you have left. All in all it is a really cool model and a hell of an upgrade over the previous one, partially since it’s plastic and not finecast resin! Kroxigor Time Slows– Power 11+ (d3 mortal wounds for failure). Friendly Seraphon wholly within, sigh, 6” get strike-first until the end of the turn. The Seraphon are a vengeful race created in another era by ancient beings called only “the Old Ones” for the purpose of maintaining balance in the mortal realms fighting the chaotic powers. Contents: 1 Great Bray-Shaman (Hero), 10 x Ungors (Battleline) / Ungor Raiders, 10 x Bestigors (Battleline with Bray-Shaman or Beastlord General) and 1 x Cygor (Behemoth) / Ghorgon (Behemoth)

The skink priesthood are the devoted attendants of the Slann Starmasters, interpreting their croaked pronouncements into prophecy and plans of action, while making certain the temple-cities continue to operate. Starseers are the most powerful skink wizards, second only to their slann superiors, and they read the heavens during battle to predict the future and bestow blessings upon their allies. Saurus Scar-Veteran on AggradonEach Seraphon is born from a spawn pool, with the warrior caste represented by the brutal Saurus. Saurus Warriors will defend their Slann at the cost of their own life and none more than the Saurus Guard, the elite group tasked to protect the Slann at all time. Completes the list the warband reaction, that allows to treat up to 2 critical hits as normal hits. It can be useful if you know the enemy has higher chances to score critical hits and your wounds left are not enough to absorb the impact. As always it’s a trade-off compared to the potential damage you could dish out instead of defending, but having the choice is always good.

Kroxigor Warspawned are a spawn-breed marked by the wrathful god Sotek. Once a rare sight, the Era of the Beast has seen the arrival of more and more Warspawned – battle-bred brutes who are barely functional outside of combat, requiring skink attendants to clean and feed them. Should anyone lay a finger on their devoted assistants, these crocodilian killers fly into an apoplectic rage. Seraphon Army Set David Ivarsson at @Sliverminiatures has painted these lovely Terradons for his Seraphon warcry warband Pros and Cons of the Seraphon WarbandThere’s only a couple of optional bits here, in the form of a set of three different heads – feral snarling Saurus, calm Saurus, mask Saurus – and a spear or a club for a weapon. Personally I went for the spear and the mask. What was once one of the worst Start Collecting boxes has transformed into one of the best with the release of the AoS 2.0 Overlords battletome. The lore goes as thus: The Old Ones, ancient beings who traveled the stars, created the Lizardmen as custodians and assistants in their transformation of the Old World. At some point in the distant past, Chaos showed up and drove The Old Ones off. The Lizardmen were left behind, still following the instructions given to them, though in a broken, incomprehensible form. So much time has passed that nobody remembers the Old Ones, and the Lizardmen are left interpreting prophecies nobody understands the purpose or meaning of anymore. Lore highlights include moving an entire continent because a Slann decided it was in the “wrong” position, since he had a map and didn’t know about tectonic drift, and accidentally destroying the old Dwarfen Empire in the process. Now we’re getting to the good stuff. It’s not a secret that Saurus were a real weak point in the book, and the heroes were pretty underwhelming compared to similar Monster Heroes. Well, this is definitely a lot more impressive. He gained 3 more wounds for a max of 15, and like most Monsters in 3.0 books, the drop off on the damage chart is a lot less stark, so he can fight better for longer.
