The conclusion of this duet was a good one. Like others, I would have liked to see Kirill with the baby. However, given there are going to be more books in this world, I feel like there is g0ing to be a continuation of the story. He was looking for her, loving her but also wanting revenge since he blames her for his life in the mafia, a life he never wanted. Liked the ending and how everything came together, liked that things between Kirill and Nikolai were left unresolved, for me that felt more real and also will lead into Nikos story with Sofia. The heroine is a poster child for doormats. The author tries to convince you she’s a fighter and feisty etc but gives no evidence to support it other than getting mouthy with H for a paragraph before immediately folding to whatever bullshit he’s pulling now. this was just a ME thing but I feel any sensitive readers should be aware. I sat on my feeling for this for a few days before deciding to review cause again… some will love this read and I didn’t want to put a negative review out there for a read that could be amazing for others.

Kirill is determined to get a ring on her finger no matter what he has to do to get her down the aisle. Molly is pretty sure what he may do but he doesn't know what she's hiding. It's nine months in the making. You see my problem. But Atleast in this book he understood he was in the wrong and apologised but still refused to let her go if your sorry youd say im not good enough just go but no kiril could never😭😂 Months pass and Kirill finally finds her and he's wanting her home and I mean he wants her home now! The man wants her as his wife and what Kirill wants he gets!!!! This duet honestly had me in a chokehold, like I mean I started the first book this morning and at 23:36 I just finished the duet, like I could not put it down. THEN he asks how she is still is a V…. She tells him that she saved herself for him cause she never wanted anyone but him.I stopped reading and starting skimming to finish this duet around the mid mark for book 1. To say I was super bummed ☹️ is an understatement. Ok…. So for the overall story it was a good story Mafia drama it was written well and I would have normally enjoyed most of it. there was no way I’d marry someone other than Mallory. I’d kill us both before it came to that. ” he’s such a sociopath and not in a cute way 😭 She and I were the same, and we'd always be each other's exception to everything. There was no line I couldn't cross that Mallory wouldn't forgive me for one day because her soul had found its partner in mine.'

Dum Dum Dum.........Kirill never forgets about this and spends 7 years looking and searching everywhere for his Molly. Until that day comes and she's found only to realise she never moved out of New York because she wanted to find him too. This guy is obsessive!!! When I tell you he's obsessed he's OBSESSED!!!!! He wants to make her pay for running ( she had no choice ) but still he wants her to pay.........can he ever forgive her? Will his obsession become too much? years later Kiril has been finding Mallory and Mallory Kiril. But Kiril isn’t the sweet friend she left behind he’s now more ruthless than ever and he’s obsessed with her . Now that he’s found her he won’t let go May be triggering for some, as there are dark violent themes (although he cherishes the heroine and doesn’t hurts her physically). NEVER communicated! Like NEVER not till the very end of book 2. So the end of the series. It was the most infuriating couple. Like they just never just jammed together and once they do the series is basically over. The characters both have a lot to love and hate about them and their conflicted feelings leave plenty of opportunity for many steamy moments, as well as some sweet ones. You'll be kept on the edge waiting for it all to play out.First let me say many will love this read. It hits all the marks. ✨First loves, ✨heartbreak, ✨obsession, ✨2nd chance, ✨staking, ✨forced proximity, ✨OTT JP, ✨touch her and die, ✨a virgin FMC, ✨Mafia family drama and a ✨HEA. So this is why I still gave 2 stars. Kirill is super salty. He’s hurt and mad at Molly but also super obsessed and unwilling to let her leave him again. He turned into a dark made man and is changed. His dad made him into a monster. If I loved anything I loved Nikolai he was funny and caring towards Molly he could have killed her but he took care of her. I loved every scene he was part of the fact that he was supposed to be the psychopath hurts my head when it is CLEARLY Kiril and Molly . They work together, whilst Kirill does everything he can to find his Molly. He eventually does and takes her home, her fighting the whole way. She can't get over everything that he's done. She's strong and fights him the whole time, whilst Kirill is his unapologetic self and does what he wants. It's not until they have a scare that she realises she can't live without him and she chooses to wait. This was a really great conclusion to the duet. Mila Kane has managed to wrap up Kirill and Molly's story and still leave you wanting more. Thankfully we'll get more from the Chernov Bratva in the form of Niko. For someone I hated in the beginning she did an amazing job at turning that into a love-to-hate. Look forward to his and Sofia's story.

She's keeping a huge secret from Kirill but she's not sure she can ever truly be with him again, she's not even sure if she's going to run again or not. But no matter how much she wants to hate him she can't stop loving him. If he loved her SO much to the extent we are being told then he should have stayed celibate. Molly did it! It’s either they both sleep with others or they both stay celibate. Do you want my child, Molly? Have I really trapped you this time?” - took his sweet time to realise why are you even questioning it when you KNOW the answer 😭 When he finds her working as a bartender in a gentlemen's club, he becomes obsessed until he takes over her life. By the time she realized he was not the same boy she was in love with, a lot happened. What I liked about this book was the overall story, the history of the characters, chemistry, the mafia element, and the brothers' feud. Molly is his, and no one, even her, will tell him differently. While kirill is still the possessive Alpha, he now does things without the anger driving him. It's all about his love for Molly and keeping her safe. In this book, we get more of a glimpse into his brother, and you can tell he had just as bad, if not worse, a childhood as Kirill. These 2 are both broken little boys trying to fulfil the destiny that their father pushed on them. This is all they have now. And they are done with letting him c0ntrol them anymore.

As much as I enjoyed this one, I will say for a minute it was sitting at a 3-3.5 star read for me. There was just something about it that took me awhile to get through, but after a certain point I felt like I couldn’t put it down which bumped my rating up to a 4. This is book one in a duet, so it does end on a cliffy.. and what a cliffy it is!! Thankfully book two is out already, cause I dove right into it! ⁣ They'll just have to survive his brother and father to see if they can get past what they have done to each other. The reader gets the whole picture. He hates her. He loves her. He’s beyond obsessed. He has this ridiculous need to “break” her but predictably starts to immediately regret it when it seems like he may be succeeding on his mission. He’s a total asshole in every interaction to ensure she doesn’t suspect he actually loves her. I started to gag every time we’re subjected to the sad little dichotomy between his actions and inner thoughts. But he wants revenge first. So he treats her like an object for the entire first book. He refuses to sleep with her in his bed. Gives her a separate room. Makes her wear degrading things. He’s super cold and standoffish. He doesn’t want to open his heart to her again. So he does everything he can to keep her in her place. They don’t communicate or even really talk about themselves and the past 7yrs or what happened that night. Im really not a fan of the secret pregnancy and the runaway scenario so that didnt endear me to her either and i was SO disappointed that she wasnt the one to tell Kirill she was pregnant in a sweet and private moment... that made me so mad because they had the perfect opportunity in the library the night before he found out, but she just never told him... why? Because she can't communicate.
