About this deal

Took me a while to get into the writing. As soon as the plot took shape though I had no problem with it. The town of Morganville is preparing for the annual “Feast of Fools,” a celebration where humans and vampires can let loose and have fun. However, tensions rise when a group of human radicals threatens to disrupt the festivities and reveal the town’s secrets to the outside world. I am a titles girl. I like the title of books to mean something to the story. The Dead Girl’s Dance, is a real cool title, but it was such a small part of the story. When I read the title of the book I imagined something a lot different, lol!! Just a personal observation.

It’s a nice story, with a crew of likable, down to earth characters, who were being pushed through one deadly situation after another. The troubles which the residents in the Glass House had gotten themselves into are too many that it is almost humorous (in a good way). And I really like how the author wrote her vampires, they were brutal, cunning and at some point very cold blooded, but their characters were built that way with reasons, and you soon can tell the truly evil ones from the rest. The vampires aren’t all bad but they are not humans’ harmless best friends either. I think it’s what made Rachel Caine’s novels realistic Um, yeah. Way to go, protective parents; you've put your daughter in StupidSchool and, moreover, the rattiest part of it. So, how'd that one work out? This book provides a new perspective by adding Eve and Amelie’s viewpoints. The author also adds another layer to the vampire lore by explaining why Morganville was created in the middle of the desert. Despite the series’ predictable formula, the book is fun and engaging, leaving readers curious about what’s to come.Let's begin with the characters. I adore the main character Claire. I found her so easy to relate to and I thought she was pretty much everything a main character should be. Eve, Shane and Michael are three other main characters who I would honestly die for at this point. We all need a best friend like Eve and guys like Shane and Michael in our lives. I don't want to say much more about them, because discovering these four people were one of the things that made this book amazing. Could it be any harder, do The Calling, no random!). Richard Morrell was the town's mayor, after his father's death. He is also Monica's brother. It is implied that he and Hannah have feelings for each other but nothing comes of it as he is killed by the draug. The small College town of Morganville is not what it seems. It has very, very dark secrets. Morganville is not safe after dark, unless you have protection, even that can be revoked.

Claire Danver a first year student of TPU been bullied by bad girls called the Moniketes. (Almost the books that I've read bout college thing, they always have this protagonist that always been bullied, a nerd or something. Have they ever think of changing that concept?) They are the queen bee of the school, like a bitch modeling there ugly bellies in the hallway as if they looked beautiful. Trouble is like looking for them everywhere because they just get in town for one day and get arrested. Things don't stop here, because they have an unexpected "rescuer" Morley which takes Claire,Eve and Shane prisoners with him and other vampires in the lookout for a new town. Now that Ada is dead he escape Morganville without The Founders permission.

I’m glad I have 8 more books lined up ready to read, no waiting!!! Plus ‘Bite Club ‘ releasing May 2nd 2011. I strongly disliked Claire. Very strongly. I mean, what was the purpose of making her 16? To make her even more annoying?? She was immature and whiny and......*simmers down*. In the second book, all the other characters were like "Oh, what happened to the little mousy girl?", I would go "She's right here guys. Just because its a new book doesn't mean she underwent a personality change."

Looking for alternative accommodation, she goes to a house where three roommates are looking for a fourth one. Once there, she learns that there are dangerous vampires in Morganville, and that they basically run the city. Claire still doesn’t call her parents to request a school change, because of the reason mentioned above (huh?) OH OH OH!!!! And, okay, I must say-these might be some of my favorite kissing scenes EVER. Or, at least, in a long long time. I just am extremely enamored with how she writes the exchanges-sexy, sweet, swoony, and then there's how she explains the body? I don't know... I just was very attracted to the way she described something as beautifully simple as kissing. It's like authors forget how to, you know?? I have very high hopes for, ahem, future endeavors hehe.

The series was adapted into a digital series, not a traditional TV series. The web series, titled “Morganville: The Series,” premiered in 2014 on YouTube. The adaptation was directed by Blake Calhoun and featured a cast that included Amber Benson, Robert Picardo, and Lindsey Seidel. You can watch it on the official Morganville Vampires YouTube channel. Feel free to ask me any questions and share your opinion.

I honestly believed Michael was going to be Claire's love interest, so I have a bit of underlying disappointment. We are teased constantly from Claire's thoughts… and poof-- He ends up with Eve??? Even though it was established at the start that she had a crush on Shane? So, I'm not sure if I've ever divulged this on Goodreads, but my career goal is to one day become a Young Adult Librarian. Because of this I try to read a wide range of YA so I know what to recommend to teens. Glass Houses is one of the books that I normally wouldn't read, but decided to anyway. You know, for the teens ;-) Who knew having your laundry stolen would turn into 11 titled books , to date. ( Bite Club # 10, releases May 2nd 2011, Last Breath # 11 , releases 1st November 2011)

This is the first young adult novel in the Morganville Vampires series. The story takes place in Morganville, Texas, where vampires have taken over and ruled the town. Claire faces this dangerous world to survive. Rachel Caine has created a unique world where vampires have taken over a small town in Texas. The mystery of the missing girls and the danger Claire and her friends find themselves in make for an exciting read. 2. The Dead Girls’ Dance I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first and I was glad when I had the first two books in one, because I really did like it. Claire is smart, Eve is funny, Shane is the tough guy, and Michael is basically the head of it all, and they all connect so well together, it was wonderful. It was set in the eerie town of Morganville, a place where secrets lurked in every corner—and the best secrets weren't even that vampires were real or that they ruled the town. Truly, every character had a secret and so the reveals and twists came like a barrage of truths at the end and it was spectacular. The foreshadowing in the plot was delightful and the cliffhanger ending left me gasping for more.
