Power Query uses a dedicated window called the Power Query Editor to facilitate and display data transformations. You can open the Power Query Editor by selecting Launch Query Editor from the Get Data command in the Get & Transform Data group, but it also opens when you connect to a data source, create a new query, or load a query. I deal with databases and .csv files regularly and being able to transform and clean up the data for importing into other programs makes the work so much easier. I would spend hours doing manually through plain Excel what takes me moments. Once both queries are created, you can then do the Merge in one of the queries. Or create a new query that merges the two tables. Loving this app. It has made my work life much easier. I had a little trouble at first understanding the macros and datasets (trying to do nested macros) but now I've got it sorted and very happy. Support is also fantastic and respond in a timely manner. Power Query has a ton of features and there is definitely a lot to learn. Import and refresh of data from Facebook in Excel stopped working in April, 2020. Any Facebook connections created before that date no longer work. We recommend revising or removing any existing Power Query queries that use the Facebook connector as soon as possible to avoid unexpected results.Find and connect data from a massive range of sources, merging and molding that data to match your own requirements, or use integrated modeling tools, Power Pivot and Power View, to push your data further. Once you insert a powerview worksheet a new powerview ribbon will appear, you will get a blank canvas and all the tables will be shown in the field list, just like in power pivot. Paul Gittens, 11-Nov-22 Can't go without it Power Pivot was the first power tool and it was released a few years before power query. Power Pivot had several options available for connecting to data. Today we kept things rather simple and connected to a linked table but having so many data sources available was the start of allowing Excel users mash up and analyse data from many different sources. And unlike excel, with these external data sources you are not limted to 1m rows.
