About this deal

It's important for students to understand and learn about the Titanic as part of their History lessons. This enjoyable classroom activity is perfect for kids of any age. Using blue web paper or a giant piece of poster board, have the youngsters work together to draw an ocean. Since the theme is Titanic, the water can be embellished with cargo, lifeboats, and life preservers.

The Titanic sank on the 14th April 1912, killing over 1500 people. Around 62% of the passengers in first class survived, whereas only around 25% of the passengers in third class survived. Begin this fun craft by having the youngster cut “waves” from blue construction paper, and glue them to posterboard in such a way that something can be slid behind them. The Titanic can then be hung up, and whenever there’s a breeze, it looks like water is coming from the holes. 9. A Change of Scene The ship was the biggest of its kind during this period of time but unfortunately never made it to New York as it sank after hitting an iceberg. Since the RMS Titanic was built and sailed over 100 years ago, it might be difficult for your children to imagine what it was actually like. Here’s actual footage from the Titanic Departure to help showcase the ship. Tiny holes should be made in the bottom, through which blue paper streamers can be threaded to depict water leaking from the ship! This craft is simple and easy for any child. Turn an empty shoe box upside down, and trace and cut out three circles in its top, using an empty paper towel roll to trace the circle.

Our KS2 Titanic Art Activity sheet guides you through planning a project where children each research a different room on the ship. The individual work can be used to make a classroom display piecing together everyone’s work. The sheet includes links to resources to help children learn about the Titanic and find relevant information for their projects. There’s a mix of detailed sections and more abstract sections to bring variety to the task - and no one will be colouring in the same thing in this Titanic art activity! The Titanic had 20 lifeboats with a capacity of 1178 people which wasn't even enough to hold half of the passengers on board. Explore even more resources to help children understand the phrases they learn in the word search...Third class was at the bottom of the ship. Although the conditions here were better than other ships at the time, the 700 passengers in third class had to share two bathtubs between them. Once the youngsters have finished coloring their ships, they can be cut out and added to the water to create an interesting, colorful poster for the classroom. 5. Funny Luggage Tags Or perhaps you would like another fun activity to try for your children to complete at home or in school, Well, our Titanic word search is the resource for you!
