I have installed this for about a month now and it was easy to plumb in and is very quiet and appears to be well made.

The Sanivite drain pump is used to pump gray water away from a variety of fixtures in commercial and residential applications. The system is able to discharge the waste up to 16 feet vertical and/or 150 feet horizontal. This model is small enough to fit inside a kitchen cabinet and was designed to sustain the toughest applications as it is capable of handling hot water and grease. All plumbing codes require connection to a vent system. Please note that the vent system should be a two-way air vent. The use of mechanical vents, air admittance valves or similar devices are not permitted as these are considered one-way air vent systems. The pump was reasonably priced and installation instructions were clear and install was completed problem free. In addition to a sink, the Sanivite will also accept and discharge the waste water from a variety of other sanitary fixtures such as: a shower, a bathtub, a urinal and a whirlpool. When adding a bathtub or shower, a base will have to be constructed. This base should be made out of a 2" x 6" (minimum) or 2” x 8” (recommended) on edge, to allow for the installation of a P-trap and the required 1/4”per foot gravity flow towards the pump unit. This product is used in our utility room. It is brilliant easy to fit , very quiet so if you did use it in your home you would not hear it. Now I have fitted this my washing is bone dry and I am very happy. I would recommend this pump having had friends bought other brands and suffered difficulties this was is fantastic.

It is also highly recommended for the drain pump to be connected to a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) circuit.Great bit of kit,perfect for my customers new utility room,as expected does what its supposed to do perfectly,great service from Plumbworld The unit pumps the effluent upward to 16 feet and/or 150 feet horizontally (with gravity fall). Once the water is discharged and the water level in the container goes down, the micro switch deactivates the unit until water enters the unit again. A normal operating cycle for the Sanivite can be as short as 2 - 10 seconds depending upon the discharge pipe run configuration; power consumption is therefore minimal.
