About this deal

The small, non-foldable viewfinder is bright and sharp, and the fast motorised zoom is adjustable. There is room for improvement when it comes to video recordings. The quality of the images with detailed and sharp photos is convincing. Also the easy handling can be named as the strength of the device. On the other hand, it was viewed more critically that the flash is a bit weak on the chest and red tones in videos are sometimes over-saturated. Cheap Sony A6000 Camera in the UK

There are very few other options for E-mount lenses, particularly those that feature similar specs to the Sony 16-50, such as autofocus and electronic controls. There is the Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC, which provides a similar wide-angle focal length, but offers a much higher telephoto range (as well as size, weight and price). It also features image stabilization technology.Flash Button, Mode Dial, Multi Selector, Video Mode, Camera Dial, Live Wheel, Fn Button, AE-L/AF-L Button, Smartphone Remote, ISO Button, Programmable Softkey(s)

Auto, Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent Lamp, Fluorescent Light, Flash, Custom, Underwater I went to primes instead, giving me the sharpness and better apperture, just to find me carrying 4 lenses around and getting more and more annoyed with changing lenses on the go. Multi-Language Menu, Power Save Mode, Self Cleaning Sensor, Self Timer, App Functionality, Noise Reduction I got my original NEX-6 with the 1650. I love the range, size, and feel of the lens. I like that it has OSS.I agree that neither lens is perfect, but if you are deciding between only those two lenses I have to say that the 18-55 has a slight edge in IQ. While the 16-50 has an advantage on the wide end, the 18-55 is a slightly better lens. You can get some pretty good shots with both lenses. There are much better lenses out there but if these are your only two options and the larger size does not really bother you, I would go for the 18-55.

The lens I have is giving good performance across the zoom range and I am satisfied with the performance across the frame into the corners. I feel it does better than the SLRgear report gadget states.

This lens isn't a ''constant'' lens, in that as you increase the focal length, both the maximum and minimum aperture sizes decrease. The following table reflects the aperture changes as you zoom: Focal length Once you zoom to 35mm, distortion is reduced greatly, and the corners look very similar to the average. At 50mm, the average distortion across the entire frame is very close to zero, while there is a bit of pincushion distortion (less than 0.5%) at the edges of the frame.

This lens isn't specifically built for macro, with maximum magnification of 0.215x and a minimum close-focusing distance of around 9.8 inches. SELP1650 is one thing, I understand this is the e-mount kit lens that I need replaced. But there's another 16-50mm e-mount Sony lens floating around with the serial number B00CIT29XW. Description is "Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Alpha E-mount Retractable Zoom Lens" This appears to be a common problem with the SELP1650. Sony needs to make the internal barrel from metal, and perhaps some of the internal levers and gears. I just hated that it was rarely very sharp. Mine was lousy most of the time even in the center. Soft corners I could have tolerated, but not soft middle. AF Assist Light, Built-in Flash, Microphone, Speaker, Hot shoe, Image Stabiliser, External Flash (optional)Inside the barrel sit 9 lens elements in 8 groups, with one ED and four aspherical elements. The aperture mechanism has 7 blades for a fairly circular aperture. As I am not a "portrait" lover, I often don't take portraits and I like to walk, so I don't really need the extra 5mm that the 18-55 givesme. But it's up to you. For a collapsable kit lens that finally delivers on the Nex promise of compactness, I am extremely happy with this lens. It is stellar over the focal lengths that are most important to my shooting. YMMV. This lens became my most used lens on the NEX-6, replacing my 10-18 OSS and Sigma 19 f2.8 for general shooting and the 50 f1.8 OSS for daytime shooting. 16mm is wide enough for most applications, and the compactness is a joy to use.
