Unless you can be absolutely certain of a second-hand car seat’s history, because it comes from a family member or a friend, it is best not to use one.
Fitting the Excalibur car seat is super simple, using the Isofix connection points with top-tether and/or by the vehicles 3 point seat belt. Aided with clear indicators and guides. The Excalibur is compatible with most makes and models of cars. I don’t think I’d change anything about it. Except maybe the design. It would be good if it came in a range of bright colours and patterns but that’s just my preference. I also like that my youngest can use it too if needed (see photo above). It’s a great seat to choose if you’re a childminder or grandparent of children of many ages that you might need to drive around as you can use the same car seat for children ranging from 9 months to 11 years by just adjusting it a little bit — which is really easy with this car seat!There are two ways to fit the Excalibur — either using the adult seat belt or with Isofix and top tether. This makes it really easy to pop your little one in and out of this seat - there’s no wrestling with straps over stubborn shoulders, and my daughter is even able to climb into the seat and slip her arms into the straps all by herself.

Group 1 2 3 car seats are forward-facing car seats where the toddler uses the seat’s integral five-point safety harness initially or an impact cushion until they are 15kg (Group 1 Isofix car seat) and then uses the car seat’s five-point seatbelt to secure the child and the seat. They will also be uncomfortable. If the child is too small, they may slip under the seat belt or harness in a crash. Is it a problem if my child car seat is a bit loose after I have fitted it?
