About this deal

Underneath we have an RJ45 input for remote control, a rotary control for Voicing Select (Pure, UNR, Ext), as well as a master volume control (-12 dB to 12 dB). One other sensible function is the opportunity of remote management through A Control remote software. Right here you may conveniently alter the monitoring volumes and all settings, fully unbiased of your monitoring place. Particularly in multi-purpose studio rooms, the fast reconfiguration of all monitor features through A Control is especially helpful. The Presence setting offers +1dB, 0dB, and -1dB. It doesn’t make a huge impact, but the -1dB setting is especially helpful for tiny studio spaces. Finally, the Treble option offers +1.5dB, 0dB, and -1.5dB. I have a hard time imagining the need for a treble boost, but the -1.5dB is an excellent option to tame the top end if you find it a little bright.

The 4” bass driver is truly tiny and to expect deep bass from such a small box isn’t being realistic but things are very respectably handled down to 60Hz and the experience of listening to them is in no way lightweight. They create far more bass than a little driver like that has any business creating but as already mentioned, if you want deep bass there are more suitable options in this range. Given the issues surrounding the reproduction of deep bass in small, poorly treated studios there is much to be said for leaving the very bottom of the bottom end alone during the production phase and saving low end decisions until you can accurately judge them in a proper, treated space, or for that matter defer to a mastering engineer. How Loud Is The A4V? The ADAM Audio A Series delivers highly accurate, transparent sound across a full line of monitors that can be controlled remotely and in real time. Comprising five models, the A4V, A7V, A44H, A77H and A8H are the right fit for an array of professional and home studios — as well as broadcast, fixed-installation, 3D, immersive, and home audio environments. Innovations such as rotatable HPS waveguide technology, and DSP-based room correction and voicings enable users to tune speakers for their room and ears. The A4V woofers are driven by Class D amplifiers that aid in producing quality sound whilst reducing distortion. The tweeters and midrange drivers are powered by Class AB amplifiers that offer a natural and smooth reproduction of high frequencies. It is worth pointing out that Adam Audio carried out extensive testing to find the perfect components. DSP-Based Electronics By activating this, you can take advantage of changes you’ve made using external software. There are two primary options: the A Control application for Windows and MacOS and the Automated Room Correction from Sonarworks.

As far as level is concerned, that is probably more important than bass extension as I see a lot of the usefulness of this particular model as being part of multichannel systems and while bandwidth can be supported through the use of bass management with a subwoofer, a speaker which isn’t loud enough at the required listening distance can’t be helped. With a max SPL of 100dB at 1m these little speakers are impressively loud and would suit a small Atmos monitoring install in combination with other elements of the new A series brilliantly. Aided significantly by the aforementioned on-speaker DSP and remote control and calibration via the new A Control software. A Control Software The A Series capitalizes on the transformative power of DSP-based electronics to provide greater tuning precision and better predictability than analogue-only speakers. With firmware that can be updated through an Ethernet connection, over time you can expect to integrate the latest DSP-based capabilities from ADAM Audio—including new filter types and features, plus alternative voicings Recently, ADAM Audio launched their A Control software. This revolutionary free software gives you real-time and remote control of the advanced DSP within each A Series monitor. With A Control, you can intuitively tailor your A Series monitors to your studio space. There are plenty of room adaptation and voicing options at your disposal. Any changes you make in A Control can be experienced in real time so you can instantly hear the difference between the calibrated and uncalibrated audio. The Adam Audio A4V is a two-way Nearfield Speaker Monitor that features a 4-inch long-throw woofer design and made using Multi-Layer Mineral (MLM) fibres (same as what you would find on other A Series speakers) and a classic X-ART tweeter.

The A Series HPS Waveguide is made from a new glass fibre polymer compound that helps create a clear sound, free of unwanted resonance. The ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter is at the heart of the rotatable HPS waveguide. Handmade in Germany, the X-ART tweeter provides a precise transient response and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in every A Series speaker, providing a detailed, consistent sound across the product line The high-frequency response is the most contentious part of the range. X-ART tweeters are renowned for exceptional clarity and precision, which is the case here. Details are front and center with high clarity. As they’re part of a larger range and are not Adam Audio’s entry-level monitors, using a pair of them in a small home studio does put you at the bottom end of the target user base. Some of the features, such as fine-tuning and remote control via Ethernet using the A Control app, or uploading Sonarworks filter sets to them, are arguably more suited to professional use and multi-speaker systems in studios, and you may regard these as overkill. In that case, Adam Audio has its simpler, cheaper F Series of monitors that may be a better choice for you. Adam Audio made it easy to rotate the tweeter 90 degrees, so the dispersion still works correctly no matter how they’re set up. The monitor features both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, with a switch to select between the two. Adam Audio use HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology which means the tweeters can disperse sound with controlled consistency. The rotatable aspect has been added to the A Series, where tweeters can be shifted in 90-degree steps. This means that whichever way the speaker is placed (horizontally or vertically), the HPS waveguide technology will be in full operation.

The new, revamped A series took what was so popular about these distinctive boxes and brought them bang up to date. Available in a range of sizes from the compact three way A8H, the original new low-profile A44H and the replacement for the super-popular two way A7X, the A7V, down to the diminutive A4V. It was this smallest of the range I chose to audition for this first look at the range because while it isn’t the most impressive and probably won’t be the most popular, I suspect it might be the most important. The manufacturer recommends you “run them in” for eight hours to let them settle down, and we predict you’ll have a lot of fun doing so. The A Control app The Adam Audio A4V is a 2-way studio monitor ideal for mixing, producing and podcasting. The A4V features a broad 52 Hz to 45 kH frequency response, allowing you to experience a true image of your music. Offered at a more affordable price point than the larger A7V, the A4V delivers crystal-clear sound with exceptional accuracy in a compact form factor. The A4V active studio monitor’s size is ideal for producers, engineers and artists working in smaller control rooms or home studios where space is limited. Revolutionary Technology In this video series, Adam Audio show you how they transformed an empty room into a recording studio and calibrated the Adam Audio A Series monitors to the rooms environment. In this first video, they show you how to use the free software "Space EQ Wizard" to measure your room. Adam Audio show you how to fix issues in your workspace with speaker placement, acoustic treatment, and their free A Control software.

Our R&D team has been working behind closed doors for many years to create this 3rd generation A Series line,” says Christian Hellinger, CEO of ADAM Audio. “We have employed best engineering practices, modern materials technology and advanced DSP to create the new A Series, a range of studio monitors that offer stunning clarity and low distortion, utilizing new woofers and midrange drivers. And probably most important for our end customers: the A Series speakers are designed to be adaptable to changing requirements, preferences, and environments. Using the A Control software, you can push advanced filters directly to an embedded platform onboard the monitors to help compensate for imperfect room acoustics. The A4V thrives as part of all-encompassing, 3D multi-speaker configurations or when operating at short listening distances. You can even fine-tune the sound to suit your room using the integrated DSP-based tuning functionality! Impressive Engineering A Series woofers are constructed with a unique blend of mineral stone fibres that have been baked together to create a lightweight but highly stable material. The mineral composition, layering and geometry of each cone is specific to the driver used in each model. By combining this material with a new magnet system, A Series woofers produce high output with low distortion, delivering a clean low-end

Adam Audio A4V Powered Studio Monitor Features:
