Opeth sind ein massiver Einfluß auf die letzten sechs Jahre gewesen, auf jeden Fall. Archived from the original on 1 March 2021 . Retrieved 19 October 2021. Opeth and I have a love-hate relationship. Specifically, I love to hate them. No other bands in metal, other than Nile (pre-Ithyphallic) and Hate Eternal have managed to be so consistently boring with their output and yet garner such a significant fanbase (who, by themselves are almost as annoying as the band's sonic bete-noire). Oh yeah, I feel your incredulity. It nourishes me. Num num.

Heir Apparent -> The heaviest song of the album. Classic opeth brutal song with gerat riffs and awesome unexpected changes inside.DiVita, Joe (8 July 2016). "Fates Warning's Jim Matheos Talks 'Theories of Flight' Album, Writing Process + Performing With Different Lineups". Loudwire. Archived from the original on 9 July 2016 . Retrieved 14 February 2017. I'm a huge admirer of Opeth... The album's major, glaring flaw is its inconsistency. Again, I really adore "Coil" and "Burden." Though I do enjoy all the other songs, none of them are up to the same quality. "Heir Apparent" is an unnecessary inclusion for the sake of adding brutality to an album that doesn't need it. Its riffs are subpar compared to other Opeth metal songs, though the last minute and a half is one of the best moments on the album. It's shameful the one vicious song on the album is equally weak, because Mikael's growl is on the same level of excellence as his clean voice. Erika Kristen Watt (5 July 2005). "Interview Mikael Åkerfeldt". Furteeng.net. Archived from the original on 4 June 2009 . Retrieved 8 February 2008. Riessinger, Bianca (29 September 2010). Lotus Eater -> In my opinion the best song of the album. The song starts with blastpit and clean progressive vocals on it! The brutal parts are also there. As akerfeldt said thissong is what opeth is today. On 12 May 2006, Martin Lopez announced that he had officially parted ways with Opeth due to health problems, and was replaced by Martin Axenrot. [43] Opeth toured on the main stage of Gigantour in 2006, alongside Megadeth. Ghost Reveries was re-released on 31 October 2006, with a bonus cover song ( Deep Purple's "Soldier of Fortune"), a DVD featuring a 5.1 surround sound mix of the album and a documentary on the making of the record. A recording of Opeth's live performance at the Camden Roundhouse, in London, on 9 November 2006, was released as the double live album The Roundhouse Tapes, which topped the Finnish DVD chart. Maybe the most professional and well sounding production yet on an Opeth album. I think it´s the first time I´ve been completely satisfied with the drum sound on an Opeth album.
