Fond of frogs? Enjoy crafting? Then this blog’s perfect for your little one. We’ve got fifteen fabulous frog crafts in total. Orville is described by the auction house as being “made up of a hollow hard papier-mâché body and hard papier-mâché head, both covered in bright green elasticated faux fur fabric, finished with two soft rubber red feet”.

To mark the launch of BBC One's That Puppet Game Show on Saturday night (August 10), Digital Spy compiles a list of just some of TV's greatest ever puppets.

This weekend sees the debut of a brand new Saturday night entertainment show with a twist - it has puppets! Before Miss Piggy, the most famous puppet pigs ever. This mischievous duo were huge stars in the 1960s, sharing the screen with many big popstars and famous faces in their own TV show. They enjoy a resurgence here and there, but their 1960's heyday was their best era. Emu is sold as “the original puppet owned and used by Rod Hull during his television and stage career” and was acquired from his estate in the early 2000s. The Orville puppet was bought from Harris in the early 2000s and is “an original puppet owned and used” by the ventriloquist during his career. You would never think that this trio would get on that well, but somehow they work perfectly together. Along with Geoffrey Hayes, the Rainbow group have reached cult status after more than 1,000 episodes aired over 20 years. Shy and camp George, loud and naughty Zippy and clumsy and worryful Bungle remain puppet heroes. Although, Bungle is more of a costume than a puppet, he still counts.

Spring is just around the corner - and what better way to enjoy it than by getting engrossed in some spring animal crafts? The Flowerpot Men were the kings of the puppet world in the 1950s. Repeated for over 20 years, the two little men lived at the bottom of the garden, flobbadobbing away to their heart's content. Their language was Dalek voice artist Peter Hawkins. He famously took a bite from the Queen Mother’s bouquet of flowers and went for Michael Parkinson knee. Peter and the Wolf Finger Puppets - This resource includes 'Peter and the Wolf' finger puppets with a lovely selection of small illustrations. Simply cut out the different images, then glue or tape the bands on each one around your children's fingers.
