About this deal

The celebrations continue into the Monday of the bank holiday weekend when we’ll be encouraged to volunteer in our local areas, as part of The Big Help Out. The aim of this event is to use volunteering to bring communities together, creating a lasting legacy from the Coronation Weekend with a boost of community spirit! The crowning glory of any party is surely the food! Do your country proud and pile your tables and plates high. Whether you’re thinking of throwing a small gathering for the family or a bigger bash with your friends and neighbours, there are tons of ways to make it a day to remember. Could this be the biggest community get together in British history? The Coronation Big Lunch on Sunday 7 th May will brings millions of people together to share food and fun together, with street parties, picnics, barbeques, tea parties taking place across the country. Draw and cut out a large diamond from a piece of A4 paper or card. Use this as a template to cut out diamonds from red, white and blue paper tablecloths.

If you wanted a chocolate based cake, use my chocolate school cake as a base sponge. Or you can even jazz it up slightly and use my gin & tonic traybake– or even my chocolate orange traybake cake.

The official recipes for the event have been announced. For anyone with a sweet tooth, the royal recommendation is a recipe for strawberry and ginger trifle – sounds zingy! This cake is best served fresh on the day because of the fruit and cream, but can last 1-2 days in the fridge if needed! Paint wooden pegs in red, white and blue. Leave to dry then write on ‘Royal Wedding’ with a permanent marker pen. Step 1 – Pour the double cream into a bowl with a few drops of vanilla extract. Whip until stiff peaks start to form. Transfer the bowl to the fridge. The King's Coronation is edging ever closer and many of us will be breaking out the bunting – or making our own – putting together paper crowns and dusting down our best tea sets to celebrate this historic occasion.

When can we look forward to the coronation of the New King? The coronation service for King Charles III will be held on 6th May, in the spring/summer season of 2023. The event will be scheduled close to the 70th anniversary of the former Queen’s coronation in 1953. The royal coronation falling 70 years after Queen Elizabeth II was crowned will make the occasion even more special and significant for the people of Britain and the commonwealth countries, with events for the royal occasion taking place all over the world. A ceremony will be held to officially crown King Charles III the new monarch, the final event in his accession to the throne. A bank holiday in the UK is set to be announced for the state event in due course, giving us all a chance to get involved with this historic event and celebrate the coronation of the new King. Step 3 – Blitz the other half of the strawberries in a food processer with the lemon and sugar. Sieve the purée to catch the seeds. Everyone is invited to get involved and celebrate, in a nationwide get together of friendship, food and fun. From a cup of tea with your neighbours to a catered event for the whole community, no meet-up is too big or small, and street parties are encouraged around the country.Essentially, it’s all about getting together with community members, neighbours, friends and families around the villages, towns and cities of the nation over the bank holiday weekend. Whether you’re planning a street party, picnic, barbecue or other gathering for the big day, find Coronation decorations, tableware and party supplies to make your royal celebration a success. Alternate the coloured diamonds along a piece of string (this can be as long as you want to make your bunting) then fold the diamonds over the string to form triangles. Glue flat and leave to dry. Many of us will also be looking for decorations that we can keep as ways to remember this historic event too. Some brands have created special collections to do just that, including Fortnum & Mason and Emma Bridgewater. Both have created stunning limited edition ranges to celebrate and remember King Charles' III coronation. The collections are also great gift ideas if you're attending a street party this bank holiday, or just know someone who is a royal family fan. These colourful chair sashes are another great way to decorate your street party. They’re really easy to make, too.
