About this deal

It may be a bit of a mouthful, but Athlete Performance Luxury Chamois Cream – Pour Femme is, you guessed it, the female-specific version of the consistently very well reviewed Muc-Off Luxury Chamois Cream. Like the men's cream, it does its job really well, keeping you comfy in the saddle on long rides thanks to a formula that means it stays put yet doesn't feel greasy. Chamois Butt’r is entirely free of parabens, phthalates, gluten, and artificial fragrances, making it a good choice for cyclists with sensitive skin or allergies. If you’re familiar with Assos, you know they make a great chamois cream famous in part for the cooling, tingly sensation it creates wherever it touches. If you like that feeling, I recommend Enzo’s Buttonhole instead.

John has been writing about bikes and cycling for over 30 years since discovering that people were mug enough to pay him for it rather than expecting him to do an honest day's work. You’ll hear about Assos a lot and many will say it’s the best there is. I think part of that is because it’s been around for a long time, and it works well, so if a cyclist is using this and it works, why bother trying anything different?Breastfeeding. Nursing moms often experience skin chafing due to moisture on the nipples compounded by wearing a nursing bra. The cream also contains a small amount of menthol, which can help reduce discomfort during long rides, but most notably, it creates a cooling sensation. There’s also peppermint oil, so the whole experience is quite minty and tingly!

Apply balms or creams to areas prone to chafing. Petroleum jelly, zinc oxide, or other anti-chafing balms or creams (see product recommendations below) can help protect your skin from the friction of repetitive motions.

Chamois Butt’r Ultra

A ride substantially longer than usual do is similar. Your undercarriage may be toughened up for 50- or 60-mile rides and you may have done enough training you’re confident of completing a century, but the extra distance can make you sore enough that the last few miles are no fun at all. Chamois cream to the rescue, preventing a sore bottom. Keith Bontrager on chamois creme from about a decade ago (still worth a read): http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/riders/2006/diaries/keith/?id=keith0606 Chafing and saddle sores are common problems for professional and amateur cyclists alike, so we specifically engineered a lubricating cream that relieves both issues. Moisturizing with a slight cooling sensation, ASSOS Chamois Créme is the perfect viscosity to reduce friction, endure your longest rides, and thoroughly wash out without damaging or staining your chamois. We’ve perfected the formula over decades to become the industry benchmark for this staple of the cyclist’s toolkit.
