The captured footage is impressive. In terms of clarity and detail, it’s a cut above anything we’ve seen, although it’s a toss-up whether the extra resolution of 4K or the faster frame rate of 1440p is more worthwhile. And you still get access to all of Nextbase’s advanced features, including Alexa connectivity and a Hyper-Sync Wi-Fi connection to the MyNextbase smartphone app. The CMOS Image Sensors allow constant front and rear-view 1080P Full HD resolution recording during both daytime and night-time. The Owlcam pushes all the major smart dashcam buttons with built-in 4G LTE that supports cloud upload of critical clips and remote viewing of captured footage, as well as a live view from either its outward or inward facing cameras. There's major collision detection and automatic 911 calling, car location for when you just don't remember where you parked, and an unusually good interface via the 2.4-inch touchscreen. This connection means you can view a live stream from the dash cam on your phone, anywhere in the world, and footage is automatically uploaded to the cloud when a collision is detected. The Miofive isn’t quite perfect; it would be great if you could adjust the horizontal angle of the camera, not just the vertical tilt. All the same, it’s incredible value, and the best dash cam we’ve seen outside the Garmin and NextBase brands.
Still, there’s a lot to like about the Dash Cam Mini 2’s fuss-free operations and the fact that it’s so unobtrusive on the windscreen. If having no screen isn’t a dealbreaker, it’s a fantastic low-cost option. The next live dash cam we are going to mention is the Podofo 4G dash camera. It is a dual camera that has a front and rear lens. The front camera is the 6G/1R, while the rear is H62 with the 1280P x 720P resolution. It also includes the photosensitive element, which provides a high-quality image on cloudy days or in low-light conditions. The front camera also has a panoramic fisheye lens which allows you to film the road in front and cabin in 5 directions at the same time. The cameras can record Full HD footage in both directions, capturing video that’s smooth, sharp and clear, matched by decent audio. The interior camera occasionally struggles in bright sunlight, but that’s a small criticism of otherwise impressive performance. The front camera can also go solo to shoot in even more detailed 1440p.

The T700's Wi-Fi connectivity supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for the best experience in different environments. Using the GPS data can precisely pinpoint the vehicle’s location and routes with its driving speed on the map. You’ll have to miss out on the odd feature here and there – there’s no onboard GPS or speed recording – but you still get voice commands, a parking guard feature and the same vault features as the Dash Cam 47. What’s more, there’s little between the two dash cams when it comes to video quality. In brightly sunlit or dull conditions it’s excellent, and pretty clear and blur-free at night, although the Dash Cam 47 seems slightly better at dealing with windscreen reflections and glare.
