The family’s four generation long commitment to purity of winemaking has seen McGuigan wines named international winemaker of the year four times in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2016. The fruit was crushed and de-stemmed and selected parcels were fermented on French and American oak prior to blending. This is a well rounded and fruity wine featuring the rich flavours of ripe plum, blackberry jam and spices.A little gun-powdery when first opened but very drinkable, it's best opened in the morning ready to drink in the evening (if you can wait that long! A versatile wine that goes well with most dishes, it is especially rewarding with tomato based Italian food and red meats.
