About this deal

So for this costume to be wearable again, I will have to remake and/or strengthen a lot of parts and to be honest I don't have much motivation for that right now and I prefer to move on to the next project.

The first version of the wings were functioning enough, but not that great, so I hope to improve them soon. People weren't necessarily impressed with the costume or act, but they said it was really nice to see an "old" design character, considering most cosplay competitions here nowadays are filled with people in big fantasy armors in likewise styles (not that there is anything wrong with that, but you see a lot of likewise outfits in a competition over here). Unfortunately nobody I knew was photographing and I haven't found any pictures of this meetup afterwards. So the process you see here happens with at least 3 layers and most of them have to be undercoated in 2-4 different positions so everything can dry well.View spoiler Hide spoiler Not related to this costume, but the bat you see on the left was a work in progress for our Miria and Isaac baseball costumes: www.

I always start out with a paper prototype and if that prototype works out well, I make patterns from them. D I always like to make overviews/stories like this as it's also a good diary and memory for myself about such a huge project. Sorry for this incredibly long post, I hope you guys liked it and I hope to also see you at my next blog!

Which I actually quite like, because it's just after the part where I throw the blade from my helmet.

The best way to fix this mess was filling everything up that I damaged, re-sand it and repaint a lot of parts over again. That way the weight of the cape was on the top, my chest and my back instead of resting on the shoulderplates. This was the base for version 2, I was a lot more pleased with this one and started shaping it more to become like Chi-Chi's helmet! And now let's get to the part how not every idea is a good idea and I sometimes think to myself "why did I even try to make this work"? View spoiler Hide spoiler I just re-measure myself every once in a while to see if I didn't get a lot fatter or thinner and see if the mannequin is still good. The Chichi Dragon Ball Z Cosplay is perfect for all young girls who don't let themselves be walked on. I sometimes wear my helmet or other parts seperately at lazy days on conventions, just because I like how they turned out.

For some reason I had the bright idea that I could use small pieces of foam to cover the gaps I had inbetween the detailing and the helmet itself. I remember struggling so much with it, while it's actually a joke compared to a lot of other costumes I've made. I'm completely not used to cosplaying cute and shy characters, but what helped was that I was also not 100% comfortable in such a bare costume, even though I was wearing a bodysuit. If I would re-do this part, I would have made the seamline less obvious, but I'm still quite happy with how this turned out! I got both positive and negative reactions on my color choice, but I think it looks very 80's, so I like it! As an act I decided to do the part with Chi-Chi's first appearance in the series (where she battles a dinosaur) combined with her picking flowers for Goku. I checked all the photographers from last years' competition and a few new ones, but almost everyone seemed to have skipped going to the solo competitions and I only found pictures from the duo and group competitions.
