Each kit features authentic details copied from the production props like the buttons, knobs, and switches. The previous release of the 12” version of the ship has always been well-received by fans and modelers everywhere. The star vehicle of the ground breaking work was the Eagle, the venerable workhorse of Moon Base Alpha. MPC presents a Limited Re-Issue of the 22” model kit with details gleaned from the original miniature used during the production of Space:1999. I would have liked to have had more prominent colour boxes/textures/shading added, to be more like the filming models, there are a few shaded boxes on the model but the colour is too close to the base colour so they hardly show in these photos.

The decals wanted to stick quickly, so I added a few drops of water to the surface before sliding the marking from the backing paper. The true origin of the Space:1999 Hawk starship is a bit of a mystery, but it was fully intended to be a formidable weapon.

When building these 14" ones I usually use decals to do the panelling but on the 22" I tend to mask and paint.
