About this deal

From this book, I can learn that no matter what conditions, if people work hard, dreams will come through. He looks back in detail at the 2007 World Championship – his four race wins, the frightening crash in Germany, his rivalry with team-mate Fernando Alonso, his special relationship with Ron Dennis, and what it’s like living under the spotlight of the paparazzi – right up to the last race of the season in Brazil. He just never gives up and always puts 100 per cent effort into trying something even if he knows it’s too much for him.

One of the most interesting parts of this season was the inter team battle with Fernando Alonso and the spygate saga so to read about that is good. At an early age, Lewis narrates his humble beginnings, the people who supported him all the way and his first year as an F1 driver. One of the few bad days came when I had a big accident testing the new MP4-22 at Valencia in January before the season. And the launch in Valencia on 15 January earlier in the year, when we did all the razzmatazz and had those huge crowds and did the ‘doughnuts’ in the streets…So much has happened since – and luckily for me, nearly all of it has been good. In his first season in F1, Lewis Hamilton thrilled the world of motor racing by finishing on the podium in his first nine consecutive races – the first driver to do so in the sport's 57-year history – and drove to victories in Canada, America, Hungary and Japan.

Lewis's family was not that wealthy to participate in sports, but because of his father's hard work, he has come to this level. After Brazil, I was asked if there was anything different I would do for next season given my experiences this year. As the story of his rookie season in F1 and the route to get there it was an interesting view on Lewis' motivations, but it was a little self-indulgent and repetitive.

He made his F1 debut at the 2007 Australian GP and won in Canada, USA, Hungary and Japan during that season, finishing second in the World Driver's Championship. I have always disliked the way the press portrays him and believe very little of what I read in the wider media about him and hence why I choise a first person bio of his first year in F1. Rather a shameless opportunity to cash in at the end of what was one of the best F1 seasons for years.

A very enjoyable account of Lewis' upbringing, his first forays into Motorsport and inevitably his rookie season in Formula One.I like to think of my parents’ home as my power station, the place where I can go to seek support, rest and reassurance in the good things in life. He looks back in detail at the 2007 World Championship - the race wins, the frightening crash in Germany, his intense rivalry with team-mate Fernando Alonso, his special relationship with Ron Dennis, and the furore over the Ferrari allegations - right up to the dramatic last race of the season in Brazil. More crucially, nor did it give any sort of details to the infamous Fernando Alonso relationship \ breakdown at McLaren which led to spygate and the removal of McLaren from the constructors championship, this was a major disappointment. Livro todo em inglês, infelizmente não há tradução, e uma excelente leitura, leve e interessante pra quem é fã do piloto e da F1.
