Each episode was aired in two parts, each in a one-hour time slot (usually separated by a week), and each part ran about 50 minutes. Set during the time from just before England entered WWII until shortly after the war ended, it seems to keep to an accurate time line of the war while following DCS Foyle through a variety of crimes, both war related and otherwise. ITV director of programmes Simon Shaps cancelled Foyle's War in 2007, but Peter Fincham (Shaps' replacement) revived the programme after good ratings for 2008's fifth series. Milner is finding his feet as the new Detective Inspector in Brighton's police force, whilst Sam seems to have lost her sense of purpose along with her uniform.Foyle's War opens in southern England in the year 1940 - which may seem a strangely remote period in which to place a new detective, but the setting turns out to be a means of adding moral and dramatic depth to the storylines. Notable authors on the town during this period and who are acknowledged in these books as offering further information are Nathan Dylan Goodwin, Victoria Seymour and Mary Haskell Porter.

As the stories of DCS Foyle progress through the war, in the final two series we find ourselves in a time of peace at last. Seems to me there is no quality control checks as you can see there is a crack at the center of disc that prevents the reading of disc.

Foyle finds himself drawn into complex webs of security and counter security where the loyalties of even those closest to him are brought into question as he joins, somewhat unwillingly at first, the ranks of MI5. It features every episode of the acclaimed television series, digitally remastered to deliver the best possible quality, along with a rich array of behind-the-scenes features, cast and crew interviews and so much more. Although Foyle often comes up against high-ranking officials in the British military or intelligence services who would prefer that he mind his own business, he seeks justice tenaciously.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).
