About this deal

Personally, I think they're fine until something better comes along (and we have no idea if that will happen), and at least they're native HD transfers.

I'm in a minority because I prefer the partial redub with the original Japanese score to the original dub with the Faulconer score. In a report, ICv2 reported that Dragon Ball Z continues to remain the number one anime property, beating out other well-known anime Pokémon and Naruto. I’ve just bought the Blu Ray set in June and now I hear that they’re coming out in the 4:3 aspect ratio?

But, nonetheless, the individual cases are concealed within so that is not the main display feature anyway. Known simply as 'Grav' by the anime community, his interests are flexible as he is generally not that bothered by what he watches, whether it's a top-tier series or an enjoyable isekai harem trash type. The Japanese discs do look measurably better thanks to their more forgiving compression, and I believe anyone that wants to own a definitive copy of Dragon Ball/Z/GT should own them.

Another note is that Goku has a voice filter added when he powers up to Super Saiyan 3 in front of Innocent Buu and Babidi, which is untouched on the VHS/DVD Single releases. Goku's Instant Transmission against Perfect Cell has a second MEEEE missing, resulting in Goku saying Kamehaha. Eventually, Funimation came back with cropped 16:9 remastered versions for Blu-ray which were reportedly better than the Orange Brick DVDs but not the version that many fans had wanted. Due to the DVNR automatic process used to clean the prints, while it does greatly clear large amounts of dirt and grain, it accidentally blurs detail. It's important to mention that they only did this for the English Dub tracks, thus the removal of sound effects exclusive to the dub.

Also, in "Buu is Hatched", Goku and Majin Vegeta staring at each other has added dialogue they think in their minds. At times, I thought they were severely cropped as the top of the head was missing etc but looking at the original the head is cropped there too. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber echo and reverb effects found on the Toonami Broadcast and VHS/DVD Single releases are entirely and unintentionally removed, due to the fact that they did an entirely new mix from scratch, thus the edits done to the original English Dub are gone in the Remastered Home releases.
