ORGANIC GIN FROM IRELAND – A true juniper-forward gin made on the edge of Lough Erne in County Fermanagh in Ireland.It’s made by steeping wild-harvested sloe berries for six months in its juniper-forward Double Gin , and sweetened with sustainably sourced Fermanagh honeysuckle syrup. Now that I no longer have ready access to a source of Sloe berries to make my own, I am very happy to be supplied by Sloe Boat. The first release from the Boatyard Distillery in Lough Erne, Northern Ireland, is Boatyard Double Gin! The smooth and refined nature of Boatyard Old Tom Gin makes it a perfect choice for classic cocktails like the Tom Collins or Martinez, allowing the flavours to shine through. The first award winning product to be released from The Boatyard Distillery, situated on the banks of the Lough Erne and created by founder Joe McGirr.The Boatyard Distillery is the work of Joe McGirr (who previously worked at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society), Darren Rook (founder of the London Distillery Company) and Greg Dillon (from GreatDrams. I have to confess that this offering does hold its head up high, as it has a distinctive flavour without being gauche or "in-your-face". Inspired by the Old Tom gins of yore and the resurgence in its popularity, Northern Ireland's Boatyard Distillery have created their own take on the traditional style of gin.

Boatyard Sloe Boat Gin is a new permanent release, developed and distilled by the Boatyard team in Co. French Sauternes dessert wine has been added to the gin to bring a touch of natural sweetness to the final spirit.

This double contact method, which Dutch genever distillers would term ‘dubbel gebeide genever’, results in a more pronounced juniper flavour.

Winter Solstice Gin from the Boatyard Distillery in County Fermangh shows off some of the fabulous flavours of winter – namely Christmas pudding! Only the best organic ingredients are used at The Boatyard Distillery, and where possible only local ingredients are selected. Whilst retaining the distillery's juniper forward method, it’s made with deconstructed Christmas pudding to highlight notes of candied orange, raisin, clove, ginger, nutmeg and more. the % allocation of each botanical intrigues and encourages another sip to further test my tastebuds !
