You need to start feeding them the day after set up and only use the small spoon that is included in the kit. Regarding food, we didn't even feed the hatchlings until three days after hatching, and only used a level spoon of the food (with the spoon provided) it totally covered the top of the water. Aqua Dragons eggs can be preserved in salt for long periods of time and hatched again once introduced into water! Mine took 4-5 days to hatch but after 48 hours if you look with a magnifying glass you may be able to see them.

They make the ideal hands on STEM toy for children of most ages and they make a great first pet too. The instructions packet said to not over feed them, only feeding them every two days, using the provided food. Aqua dragons are great for kids that have an interest in animals or science as they are fascinating, especially as you can watch the full life cycle from egg to adulthood.As when the batteries need changing they are on the bottom of the tank and it’s not going to be too easy to change them. We have a small scoop that came with the kit, which measures out a very tiny amount that we get to feed them.
