About this deal

Being an analog (and true-bypass) pedal, the Carbon Copy will bring its subtle nuances to your tone. I often use it for slapback delay with the Malekko trem and the Boss FRV-1 reverb in my surf/rockabilly band for both riffing and soloing and I always get praised for my sound and other times I use it with my psychedellic rock band and mix it with some vibe or wah or fuzz, it always delivers. The oscillation you can get with this delay is amazing, similar to Radiohead's "Karma Police" effect near the end of the song. With the "mod" button engaged the soundshape dives into a marvelous chorus/vibrato like mood, which I have on nearly everytime.

It’s a simple addition but it makes a big difference, especially when you’re playing at louder volumes. Putting the CC between two buffered pedals helped as well in keeping the CC as my favourite analogue delay. With twice as much delay time and tap tempo functionality with four different subdivisions, you now have more control over your Carbon Copy repeats than ever. Fans of digital delay might want to give this pedal a go because it offers more than a standard analog delay pedal- up to 600ms delay time, subtle modulation and warm clarity. The Carbon Copy Analog Delay delivers rich, warm bucket-bridgade delay with up to 600ms of delay time and modulation.Go from crisp "bathroom" slap echoes to epic, Gilmouresque delays with the MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay. e. delay repeats, as well as Mix (wet/dry blend), and Delay, all of which can be controlled via the easy and straightforward layout, which has three knobs. I use it in the fxloop to fat up my sound, because is anolog and very dark sounding, sometimes to hear the repeats the only thing to do is to play in palm mute otherwise it will completely blend with the dry signal.

Love the look and sound of this pedal, the online reviews I'd looked at proved to be pretty accurate, a great warm, natural sound. If you require a delay pedal for subtle ambience, the Carbon Copy won’t let you down, or if you use delay as the back bone of creating riffs the Carbon Copy will provide you with a lot to play with. Amazingly beautiful sounds, from quirky slapback to dreamlike delay soundscapes, organic feeling that doesn't alter the core of your sound and on top of that a mod button that gets you even further.

Additional features include an expression jack for external control of various functions, programmable presets, and more. This design boasts an amazing 600ms of delay time with optional modulation via a top-mounted switch and a simple, three-knob layout that controls Delay time, Mix (dry/wet blend), and Regen (delay repeats)-all in a pedal no bigger than a Phase 90. The dark tone combined with the lower volume makes the Carbon Copy unsuitable for playing staccato licks.

Built well and with an amazing sound, you really cannot go wrong with the MXR Carbon Copy M169 Analog Delay. The Carbon Copy will take you from crisp bathroom slap echoes to epic, Gilmour-esque delays with a twist of a knob. The MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay features a completely analog audio path for the ultimate in rich, warm delay made possible only by old-school bucket brigade technology. With almost double the amount of delay time on offer than the majority of analog delays on the market and a simple yet effective modulation switch, the MXR Carbon Copy Delay goes the extra mile.
