One of the worst moments in Keyflower would be when you upgrade a tile and one of your opponents would immediately activate it with a color that you don’t have enough of. The player may then move up to the number of resources indicated on the transport tile and may upgrade one or two village tiles in their own village as indicated by the upgrade icons. Granted, just because you select a tile doesn't mean that you will actually keep it - you still have to win the auction.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Getting a resource generating space and paring it with a tile that turns skill tokens into resources is awesome. The auction mechanism, where players bid following a color system from a fixed resource pool is amazing.Place the relevant boat tiles in a row at the edge of the playing surface, with the side indicating the number of players face up, and the orientation facing the center of the playing surface. Once everyone has passed the players will take the tiles in which they have the highest bid, along with all workers on them, and discard (spend) the workers that were used in the bid. To ensure that there aren’t too many options in the later rounds, some of the tiles in Autumn and all the tiles in Winter don’t have an action and can only be bid on. There are three basic colors of meeples - red, blue, and yellow (there are also green meeples, which are harder to get). A player may usually use a tile for a third time by placing three workers of the same color as the workers previously placed.

If I choose to take an action, I take some of the meeples from behind my cottage and use them for one of two purposes. The game takes place over the following year and is divided up into four rounds depicting the four seasons from Spring to Winter. You should try the following : check your connection, disable ad-blocker, clear your browser cache, try in private mode, try from another browser/computer/connection. However, it becomes much easier to parse and filter the available actions with experience as you learn to track only those that are most useful to your current strategy. The player who received the lowest numbered home tile starts the game in spring and takes the purple start player worker.

I’ve seen games where one player and her pool of green keyples ends up with nearly all of the winter tiles, or where she blocks off players from using their own tiles by simply placing out one green keyple. It’s hardly Mansions of Madness Second Edition, but despite the pretensions of the rule book, there’s more than a gossamer thin theme to be found here if you’re willing to look. You must still follow the color of previously placed workers but lets you take the action on the tile.
