About this deal

Gerritsen kept me turning the pages as I kept trying to figure out where the heck this was going to end up.

I knew all of these things would make sense at some point and I was doggedly as determined as Jane to unearth the answers. Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles are plagued by what seems like a completely senseless murder, Sofia Suarez, a widow and nurse who was universally liked by her neighbours, lies bludgeoned to death in her own home. It has been a while since the last Rizzoli and Isles book but the author certainly has not lost her skill. Coincidentally, since the title is Listen To Me, I did indeed listen to this book and enjoyed the way the narrator handled it. I thought I had things figured out but this really delivered a twisty ending, though I at least was right on the who. When new neighbors move in across the street, Angie becomes an amateur detective, or perhaps just an overactive busybody.

Only the supertalented Tess Gerritsen can meld multiple storylines so successfully while she keeps the twists coming, the pages turning, and the blood spray arterial . You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Meanwhile, Jane's mother, Angela Rizzoli, is worried about some strange things that are happening in her neighborhood.Jane is determined and intuitive as ever, and Maura played her part although she was reduced to a fairly minor support character this time. But this time, Angela might have stuck her nose into something more serious, as shots ring out across the road one night. Absolutely first rate - readers will be thrilled and delighted by this new Rizzoli and Isles outing!

I generally really love a story that gives me a great sense of place, and I don’t get that with this book, or with too many of the others in this series, now that I think of it. There's a young woman who appears to have a stalker, a nurse who was slaughtered in her own home with no apparent motive and a couple of just-moved in secretive neighbors Angela is certain are up to no good (plus a couple of others who may not be quite the folks Angela always thought they were). After being a huge Gerritsen fan back in the day, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to read this one! There are other things happening in the neighborhood as well, and Angie is in the middle of all of it. And besides, Jane is far too busy immersed in her latest case, the murder of a recently widowed ICU nurse in her early fifties, bludgeoned to death in her own home. Tess's first medical thriller, Harvest, was released in hardcover in 1996, and it marked her debut on the New York Times bestseller list. Adding to the mystery is the stalking of a female college student who turns out to have been a patient of Ms.

It’s been five years since the last book was released in this series so it was great to be back in Boston. When Jane finally makes a connection between Sofia and the victim of a hit-and-run months earlier, the case only grows more blurry. Despite an absence of a number of years I found it easy to step back into Rizzoli and Isles’ world, the characters feeling like old friends. Angela’s instincts tell her there’s something suspicious about them, and she tries to tell her daughter, Boston PD detective Jane Rizzoli, this, but Jane fobs off her concerns as ridiculous.
