About this deal

While both can give a whitewash effect to wood, they’re fundamentally different products with separate application processes. Wipe off the excess with a clean cloth, first buff against the grain and then finish in the direction of the grain. Waxes Wood Wax Products A wood wax finish is an excellent way to seal and protect your favorite wood products, and it can provide a shine and sheen that certain paint finishes lack. When sealed with a top layer of clear wax, the liming wax offers a long-lasting, water-resistant finish that’s perfect for everyday use.

We also use different external services like Google Webfonts, Google Maps and external Video providers. This is going to take a little bit of work because the wood is very dry, so I have to really push the brush and the bristles in to all the grain, all the three-dimensional parts.Exaggerate the effect by opening the grain with a bronze wire brush carefully before applying the wax. In addition to stain, liming wax is frequently applied to wooden floors and wall panels, offering a unique, whitewashed aesthetic that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any room. After two coats the effect was about right and the clear finishing wax over the top gave a good polished finish. The white pigment in Liming Wax is Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) which gives it a brilliant white finish which will perfectly highlight open grain.

Remove the excess white haze using a cloth and then finish with a clear wax for a nice smooth finish.

Application: Work the liming wax into the grain of the wood with Liberon Ultra fine Steel Wool (0000) or a lint-free cotton cloth and wipe over with a clean cloth to remove excess. Fiddes Liming Wax is a ideal for application on woods such as oak, or those which normally exhibit a distinctive deep grain pattern. After you have finished opening the grain, make sure you wear rubber gloves and use ultra-fine Liberon steel wool (0000) to apply the Liberon Liming wax. Once you have completely finished liming, we recommend to finish using a good quality clear beeswax to enhance the sheen and add further protection to the wood.

Apply liberally with a lint free cotton cloth or 0000 steel wool, working well into the grain in a circular motion. The finish it creates brings depth and contrast to milk paint and other finishes, and the wax is extremely easy to apply. It is most effective when applied directly onto the bare wood giving the deep white colouring, but for an even effect it can be applied onto stained and sealed surfaces.Once all the old finish has been removed, it is important to neutralise the wood to remove any excess residue left behind from the stripper as this can cause reactions in the newly applied finish. For best results, apply liming wax on bare wood, particularly open-grained timber, where the white pigment can settle into the grooves. It creates a beautiful, traditional limed oak look and sits well in a rustic country style home or a coastal space. Remove the white haze using a cloth and Libéron Wax Polish Black Bison Neutral, or if a water-resistant finish is 500ml the EU required, with Libéron Finishing Oil. Using a soft cloth or brush, apply the whitewash generously, ensuring it penetrates into the opened grain.
