Bullet Train can feel a little tiresome in parts when the film often cuts back to tell a story from the past. Nobody realizes other assassins are on the train at first, but as soon as eye contact is made, the violence ensues in bar cars, passenger cars, and even on the outside of the train. It just so happens that there are four other assassins aboard the train, and they are all interconnected in some way with that briefcase. Facial pores, beard stubble, individual hairs, wrinkles, makeup applications, and gory wounds all look fantastic.

This is readily apparent in opening as Ladybug walks through the streets of Tokyo, followed by the train station and then as he boards the train. Most of the activity appeared to be confined to the bed layer and i felt the heights channels were sparsely used, except for a couple of scenes. In any case, Bullet Train, an extremely fast-paced program, with enough facts and herrings of different colors to make The Big Sleep seems easy to understand, actually brings all of those bits and pieces together in the end. The score and song cues are pitch-perfect that keep the film centered in its fun and entertaining atmosphere. But he's working within a marvellous ensemble - Joey King, Brian Tyree Henry, Bad Bunny, and an underused Andrew "Warrior" Koji, with Hiroyuki Sanada still proving that sticking him and a samurai sword in any movie is halfway to a win, and a cockney Aaron Taylor-Johnson absolutely stealing the show from under Pitt every chance he possibly can.The 1080p transfer looks terrific but, this rendering takes it up a notch with an increase in detail, and emboldened highlights, both light and dark. I was excited when I started watching it, then started looking at my laptop, then got into it again at the end. And the great thing is, that all these elements have congealed together to make this a blast of a viewing experience. It's a fabulous looking endeavour, and really makes for rippling demo material, and that's even before we get to the WCG and Dolby Vision flavour HDR, as the glossy vibrance of the palette resounds in every shot, from the steel blue window view to the hot pinks, and red lighting, train lighting glowing in both cool blue-whites and more warm yellow-whites, neon signs popping - hell it's a poster-child for magnificently vivid tones, with perfect black levels, no signs of crush, defects or even the slightest faltering. Bullet Train is set on a high-speed modern train where a group of assassins is all tasked with retrieving a briefcase that belongs to an infamous yakuza boss.
