To give you an idea of the size of the two bags together, they both fitted nicely in the boot of a Polo, and not as heavy to carry/wheel along as we expected it to be. The bottom image is more accurate because that middle section is a nice large 300x330cm, which is larger than the bedrooms and gives is plenty of room for spending time together comfortably in the evenings. Of course, we're getting into the territory now of maybe saving 20 mins of manual pumping but having to lug something heavy 1/2 a mile instead. Im not sure of the size difference with regards to the sleeping area but looking they seem very similar when I have looked in go outdoors at their air beam one. Oh yes - to the gentleman who said that a footprint isn't available, I'm sorry to contradict you, but oh yes there is.
For a rechargeable version you'd likely near double or triple those figures - suspect the demand would not be there to justify marketing one! For those wanting extra storage and living space, a Berghaus Air Tent Porch extension is also available. As you are pumping the tent up the air will force the valve open and inbetween, or upon completion of pumping the valve will be shut, therefore meaning no air can escape. The front entrance of the tent is large, with a fully meshed option, with a triangular window either side. Blowing the air ribs up (5 of them) is simple, just attach the supplied pump, push it up and down a few times whilst watching the pressure gauge and that’s it.
However, the heavy duty carry bag that comes with the blow up Berghaus tent has wheels integrated onto the base to make it easy to manoeuvre. If you have used this product please leave a review, or your comments for other visitors, many thanks!As soon as you take away the pump, the pressure valve system keeps the air locked in, so there’s no scrabbling about to stop the air shooting out once the beam is full of air. There are five beams altogether and with our electric pump it took about 90 seconds per tube to pump up. But if you do have to break for 5 mins - you could use this time to start inflating the next airbeam with the volume pump. It is possible to get air fully into a tube with the valve open, however there will a fair bit of hissing air, and as soon as you remove the pump the air will shoot out of the valve. Instead of waking up sauna style, sweating and gasping for air, we found the tent really breathable.
The only reason that I didn't give this tent 10/10 was because of Millets inability to give me the folding diagram that exists. I’ll admit I wasn’t entirely convinced by inflatable tents before our 3-week family camping trip to France and Spain. This double action pump has an easy grip handle, robust footplates and an assorted of valves to fit almost any inflatable. The bed spaces are comfortable and spacious, also the living area has loads of room for some chairs and a small table.
Some might say I’m an overthinker, but if you’re investing in a tent that’s going to stand the test of family holidays, then it’s worth getting it right.
