First off, I should mention that I was not previously familiar with the FastDiet which is the companion book to this cookbook. I felt the benefits (lost just under 13lb, had clearer skin etc) but decided to give myself a week off over Christmas. This book has beautiful photographs throughout, which is usually what makes me want to try a recipe. Another thing I learned about was that fasting before chemo lessens the negative effects on the body because of the hormesis due to the fast.
