About this deal

What really made me give up on this lens is the fact that both lenses I got cannot focus to infinity. Flip your iPhone or Android phones or your latest tech stuff and “Made in China” is shown quite clearly even though the design of the phone may come from some other place. is a new lens that looks and feels vintage (maybe early-1980’s-ish), and produces results that have a vintage quality. I heard that X-T1 and X-T2 has split screen mode in viewfinder, which displays the full view in the left of the viewfinder, and split the the view with vertical line, in the right it displays the 10x magnified center of the image. While this lens does come in black and silver, I am definitely a fan of a silver lens on a black body :).

It can be used on full-frame cameras like the Sony A7r III, but it will only have a circle of projection large enough to cover the APS-C portion of the sensor and you would need to put the camera in Super 35mm crop mode. The 7Artisans line of lens is the brainchild of a group of Chinese camera enthusiasts in the summer of 2015. So for now - I'll go for an image quality of "good enough" - and celebrate that the size and weight of my M43 kit means that I am likely to have the camera and lenses with me when that amazing view opens up before me! Made mostly in metal, the lenses are solidly built that have that bit of heft without feeling heavy in practical use.It does have some faults and quirks, but, considering how little it goes for, it’s easy to overlook those issues, and perhaps even embrace them. From the images you saw, the image quality is good enough for my travel articles and even for some paid professional work. This lens also has a focus ring that floats with a bit of resistance but is not as tight as the 25mm. It may sounds like a bad thing when you need to quickly get into focus but it helps to fine tune the focus especially shooting at f1.

As one of the founders of 7Artisans is an avid Leica collector, it is not tough to see some of the design fundamentals of the German made lenses found its way into the 7Artisan lenses. Macro review, and I will post it in the beginning of next week but now, I’m going to talk to you a little about the Photoelectric 25mm f1.You can definitely get some great shots with this lens, and there were times when I was completely content with the sharpness, and I never felt like I needed anything sharper like say the XF 23mm f2. The Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR delivers a 35mm full-frame equivalent field of view and stands out due to its small size and weather-resistant build. There was also some dust in the lens when I got it and after only a few more days a lot more appeared. After only a few days of using the lens, the aperture display ring (the ring that has the aperture tick on it), came loose and could spin freely.

You’re really getting what you pay for with this lens, but the optical formula is fantastic if you don’t mind some vignetting, distortion, and corner softness. The front filter size is 46mm, which is that odd diameter in between the 43mm some Fujifilm lenses (that I have) use like the 23 and the 35mm f/2 and the more common (especially in film era lenses) 52mm thread. I would say a lot of people have misgivings when it comes to independently produced products from China and I cannot blame them because there are dodgy products being sold throughout the years. It’s possibly the least expensive lens option for your Fujifilm X camera, as I don’t know of any that are cheaper; however, this is a lens that you could capture some great pictures with because it has very sharp glass. is a compact manual focus prime for Fujifilm X, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds and Canon EF-M mount lenses.

If you have a limited budget but would like to add some quality glass to your collection, the 7artisans 25mm f/1. I can use this lens with very slow shutter speed of 1/10 or 1/8 of a second hand-held if there’s no way I can use the tripod. You might want to have a cheap lens that duplicates the toy camera look of a Holga or other cheap camera, and in that case, this lens will suit you fine. As for flare, depending on how you angle it towards the sun, it may exhibit the occasional flare but overall, I didn’t have many issues with this.
