About this deal

Since 2016, Chris has been getting up close and personal with tiny creatures as he aims to showcase the wonder and beauty of their existence that often go unnoticed. When I first started using the in-camera focus stacking technology I was continually adjusting the focus differential and the number of images to be combined. Being a telemacro lens means that you get a reasonable working distance of about 10cm (4in) from the front element, even at maximum magnification (and quite a bit more when shooting at a reproduction ratio of 1:2 or 1:4). You may have seen my photos in various exhibitions, on the Internet and many Czech and foreign magazines and books.

and the MC20 are all fitting well into my camera bag, while still leaving place for my M1 Mark III with battery grip and some filters. Unfortunately the Nikon 1 system never had a dedicated macro lens… but I got hooked on this genre of photography none-the-less.Debating Dmitry on the topic of photography is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon — it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory. Just bought the lens, and have so far taken a couple of dozen shots with it, in the garden in wet conditions ! At these early hours of the day, you can find many insects that would normally be blasting through the sky at top speeds, dormant and relaxed. One thing I did notice while using the lens is that the focal range switch can be a boon or a beast; for me it was a beast, I missed so many shots because I had it in the wrong setting when a momentary opportunity showed itself.

Not only is the 60mm sharper and weathersealed, it’s several hundred dollars less expensive to boot.Hello, I have old 4/3 50mm f2 macro lens, incredible sharp and I am, after reading this article, in big dillema.

Once I mastered the distance dial and I became comfortable using manual focus for macro images, this lens really came alive. You don’t give up much image quality compared to bigger camera sensors for close-up photography, and you gain a lot of maneuverability. With a macro lens, it is often easier to set the lens to 1:1 and then move the whole camera back and fourth until focus is achieved on your subject. This lens is sealed against dust and moisture and the light weight means it balances well with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3 body used for testing, and should be equally at home on even the most compact Micro Four Thirds system cameras. This macro lens optics are designed to eliminate double-line defocusing, which causes a blurred area contoured with dual lines or edges. Most people are not to blame for their own ignorance, but if they willfully pass it on, they are to blame. Here are some crops to help demonstrate how sharp the lens is for macro photography: DC-G9 + OLYMPUS M. Please, remove this con item, because it does not make any sense, and gives the wrong impression what users really want and need. Severe chromatic aberration gives a noticeable fringing or a halo effect around sharp edges within the picture. Extremely shallow depth of field, hand shake, subject movement, less light up close so less shutter speed etc… all play into a difficulty in making perfect macro. If you use the same (or a similar) lens, at the same f‑number, on a full‑frame (FF) camera and a MFT camera, diffraction gives twice the blur on the MFT.
