The inspiration: Boden press day AW11

In the midst of sale time it can be hard to find any inspiration on our high street so sometimes its necessary to look further afield and visit some press days to get a taste of what we can expect this Autumn/Winter. One brand which has created a little taste of visual merchandising heaven, is Boden at their AW11 press day. Isn’t it just stunning!  I love all of the clashing patterns and bright tones which is not something you would usually expect for this season. The bright fresh flowers really liven up the white room and must smell gorgeous, a great trick for independent stores trying to set them selves apart from the high street.

All pictures are taken from Smudgetikka blog which by the way is a MUST read for anyone working in childrens wear fashion whether it be design or visual merchandising.

The inspiration: Camden market

On a recent trip to Camden market I found lots of the stalls showing off some great visual merchandising. I love the vintage feels of the stands and the use of natural woods. reminded me of this tree I also saw made out of woods in topshop. Camden is definitly worth a visit if your ever in London!
