One issue I encountered was with needing to open the clubface to hit a hard cut around a tree. The ridge fell in an awkward spot on my fingers which compelled me to tweak the grip rotation ever so slightly. Although that occurrence was a negative for me, I could foresee using the ridge to establish alternate hand positions or grip rotations for routine shot shaping. It fits the contours of the creases of your fingers, so you just have to find the feel of your normal grip and all you do is replicate that on your next swing and voila, consistent grip application. It's almost an unoticeable ridge, but you will notice once your hands are in the same position. Keep in mind there is an MCC Align (either standard or midsize) and MCC Plus 4 Align (reduced taper, either standard or midsized) and in a few months there will be a Tour Velvet Align as well. So if you're buying, be sure to get the particular one you want.
