About this deal

Projection isn't huge and it's more of a "personal bubble" scent but even after hour 6, I can still smell the vanilla projecting from my skin. This makes them hard to review for someone like me who loves the original: They all smell pretty good, but they're not very creative and it's unnecessary to own several of them. The result is an exhilarating fusion of elements, creating an intense and enduring women's scent that challenges conventional gender boundaries in perfumery. Black Opium Extreme is absolutely and wonderfully round, velvety, warm, fruity, sensual, delicious, addictive, captivating and perfectly sweet to my nose. I have never been able to smell coffee in the original either so if you're like me you prob also wont smell it in this.

Experiment with layering by combining Black Opium Extreme with other Black Opium fragrances to create a unique and personalized scent. YSL Beauty mixes ingredients and proportions, constantly re-interpreting Black Opium’s coffee signature. Indulge in the limitless allure of Yves Saint Laurent's Black Opium Extreme – a fragrance that transcends boundaries with extra-black coffee, ultra-white flowers, and an abundance of patchouli. Then again, my bottle was brand new from a perfume retailer, so I'm going to let it sit for a few months (maybe even a year) and see if it has better longevity by then! I love them all ♡ I don't know wich version I prefer but this flankers start to take the first place.

Definitely has the DNA from the original and is pretty similar but the sweetness is toned down and I find it less creamy. For medium intensity: Spray in a y-shape across your body, starting at one shoulder and finishing at the other. I really want to like this one, but i can't help but feel like Black Opium (and its flankers) are one of those "basic" fragrances, feels kind of one-dimensional in a way with the hyper sweet white florals taking the spotlight. When it dries down, the original DNA is there to a very large extent, but it smells like real raw coffee beans mixed with soft powdery yet creamy vanilla.

Let yourself be seduced by its sensual notes and create an unforgettable scent experience that will leave a lasting impression. I don't know why I get a huge load of a juicy pear note in the beginning, but I do, and it isn't even listed in the notes. Eagerly I’ve applied it and couldn’t believe my nose: all I was getting were wiffs of 90s-00s generic and immensely sweet fruity white florals. On a test strip i got abysmal performance, it lasted for about 30 minutes and most of that was the screechy sweet white florals before the coffee came out briefly then died down.I still like Black Opium to this day, although I don't use at as much bc after 7-8 years I've gotten a little bored of it lol. At first it made me a bit dizzy, but as the intense sweetness subsides, it gets along extremely well with the skin. For added intensity: apply perfume directly to your pulse points and / or hot spots (wrist, inner elbow and lower neck).

Also judging by ads, description, notes (here on Fragrantica) and reviews this promised to be predominantly gourmand coffee and cocoa - notes that in my mind could compliment original Opium so well that I almost have bought blind a full bottle of this Black Opium Extreme.Discover the YSL Black Opium fragrance wardrobe and indulge yourself or treat others to a YSL Black Opium gift. I just wish the projection was better but I kind of like how it stays closer to skin, it suits its vibe. Was not disappointed at all by the scent, because it is darker more like a ristretto and not a latte, but the performance is WEAK!
